Hell of a long way to ask a question!

Ok then smart arse, explain how this was helpful.
The way you read my post about it being used you thought I was being arrogant. I wasnt. Its just the way you read it. The same for my post about people buying from Ebay thinking its always cheaper. You thought it was all about you. It wasnt.
So what exactly was that post all about?
Take a leaf out of your own book.

In fact no I'll sneak a bit more time.

I apologise if I got the wrong end of the stick, however... you're comment was "It is used though so should be cheaper". To me that's a little condescending. A simple 'It is used though' would suffice.

Too many people on here are quick to try and assert their superiority. A semi- arrogance of an 'I know best' culture. Your comment "If I really wanted to I could actually post a cheaper used badge but..." is a case in point. I'm not here for a game of one- upmanship, but if I sense an unwarranted display of such then I will tackle it head on and I will win.

If someone posts something constructive and potentially helpful, why does the automatic response all too often on here try to take that post down and win some points? Yes I knew the badge was used, if you were innocently pointing this out then fine, I still believe I was being helpful. If someone unwittingly receives a marked badge then they probably should have checked the accompanying photo beforehand. In this case I believe the badge looks in pretty good nick, so again that use of "so it should be" leans more towards the 'I know best' culture I was referring to. Remember, as soon as you place those two pins into the associated slot on your bumper, that new badge becomes a used badge, and no more valuable than the cheaper used one you could have bought.

I'm sure there are tons of better deals no matter what and where you buy, but if someone is only trying to be helpful why not resist the urge, maybe subconscious, to take them down a peg or two? Again I apologise for any misinterpretation, but when you look around this place and see so many examples of the case in point, it's all too easy to misinterpret a situation, especially in this environment of textual communication.

Truce and no hard feelings

Your tbh :poke:

Sorry...couldn't help myself after reading this thread

Haha I missed that! :o

To be honest it was a childish put down I just couldn't resist such an opportune moment... To then fall at the last hurdle by repeating the mistake is unforgivable !!!

To think, I tend to proof read my posts before submitting too. I must have been light headed from the altitude of my high horse.

I just read this thread as I also am looking for a 70mm bonnet badge. Looks like it took a bit of a wrong turn, lol.

Most threads do at some point, just stick with them :)

Thank you for the feedback everyone. That link to a new one on eBay seems like an option, if only it was £5 and not £35! This is the cheapest I can find on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180946799495?ul_noapp=true

I posted in a different thread, I got a 74mm for Ebay, fitted fine:

Are you able to show a photo from the side, which should show the badge protruding slightly at the bottom?

Better off buying a genuine badge if you want perfection. I tried the ebay replica badge, bit couldn't live with the ill fitting cheaper version, so ended up buying genuine.

Agreed. I'm too OCD to have an ill fitting badge!

FINAL UPDATE:

I bought this badge: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180946799495?ul_noapp=true for £33 and it fits perfectly.
See the photos below. I added rubber washers behind and secured them with Gorilla glue and it holds strong. You can also see the fixings and where I removed the grill to place the washers on the back of the bonnet badge lugs.
