Bonnet and Front Bumper Re-Spray

So I've had a quote from Stratstone Chesterfield for £500+VAT to respray both bonnet and front bumper. Thinking of pressing the button in order to get it done before the Lakes meet. What do people think of the price? I'm tempted to go with the dealer option because if they f*** it up then I've got the comeback of their bodyshop warranty and an avenue to get it sorted until it's right. Although smaller, local bodyshops often do the work for them, and theoretically you could cut out the middle-man and get a cheaper price, you could also land yourself with a headache if it needs to go back to be put right.

Thoughts?

My local bodyshop quoted me £250 for a bonnet respray and I recently paid £140 to have the front bumper sprayed and fitted. So £500 at a dealer sounds pretty reasonable...

Sounds very reasonable to me.

I paid £250 just for my front bumper painted and fitted... And they did a crap job at that...

Have been thinking about doing this myself, just a few questions.

Do you have any stone chips on the top of the front wings, if so would they annoy you with a resprayed bonnet & bumper?
If you have anything larger than a normal stone chip would this get repaired for the same price?

Flimper - no I haven't got any stone chips on the top of the front wings (and very few on the bonnet really).

Yes - the price assumes all will be dealt with but I'd class any blemishes on mine as stone-chips really. Nothing very large but some are a bit bigger and deeper than others.

Were they the first people you got a quote from or did you price match? Want to get mine done, the egg shell marks are upsetting me :headbang:

I got a quote from a local Indy and spoke to one or two people on here, but my Indy's quote was only slightly cheaper so I went with BMW with the added peace of mind of the warranty.

Looking forward to seeing the results in the flesh Guv!

Chinese/Indian evening me thinks, we must get the social secretaries together !
