Bonkers lotus

Lotus have launched a suitably bonkers new car that does the 0-60mph sprint in 2.9secs & goes like a rat up a drain pipe, I thought it might interest some on here :driving:

Very intersting car.
Maybe a good contender to the radical rcx turbo.
I see a whole new battle for the new nordschleife record (these cars are probably way faster than mclaren p1's 918 spiders etc on a track)

The road car track record has been held by the Radical SR8LM since 2009. that was 9 seconds faster than the 918 spider could manage today. :lol:

I expect if one of the latest crop of super cars did manage to sneak under that time, then Radical would drive over there and throw a lap together in a their latest baby, that would knock a whole chunk more off. In the mean time no point in lowering your own record when no one else is close. :wink:

Yes radical does it's name a lot of honour.
But I think this lotus is a good contender for a lot of radicals.
But radical also has the rcx turbo 500, that is even more powerful than this lotus (but also heavier)

I think evo magazine did a comparison between that rcx turbo 500 on standard tyres and a mclaren p1 on the trofeo tyres, and the radical was way faster even with worn tyres.

I've been out on circuit with a radical going around at Spa back in 2011 and it was daft how much faster it was than the Zed.

This one in fact. :thumbsup:



That Lotus looks very tied down, but then it's hard to gauge how hard they are pushing with all the slow traffic around them.

Fact of the matter is Radical build track day cars you can drive to the track it's 90% function over form. Lotus build stylish road cars with a track focus. So I'm guessing the current fastest Radical would batter it. :driving:
