Bodywork advice needed

Went to jack the Breadvan up last weekend. Turns out drivers side rear jacking point rubber missing, so ordered an new one with the correct self tapping screws from Sopers.

Below is an image of what the space looks like. I'd like to clean it up, painted and get it prepped for the new jacking point rubber, but not really done any bodywork before. What would those with experience recommend doing to sort it?

I'd probably clean the rusty flaky paint off with a wire wheel on a drill. Maybe some sort of rust proofer then an underseal.

That looks like it's spread from the Jack point under the bolt on trim. Might be worth a trip to a paint shop for a quote. That car is an investment so you want to keep it mint.

Cheers Sim. Is there any particular rust proofer and underseal you'd recommend? Looks like it was painted before sou wouldnt you bother and just underseal it?

I would remove the skirt and the black plastic trim and see the extent of the rust. No point in only doing what you can see.

Will do. Thanks all. Armed after trip down to Halfrauds. Evening job for me.

Its worth getting the sills off at the same time and having a look for any corrosion at each end where mud and debris can collect.

How too here,
