Ok, just been out and had a look under the bumper on exhaust side.. you can definitely see a black plastic fitting it clips into  also should have metallic tangs on the 2 big clips to secure it into the fitting

Pic lifted from an ebay ad showing missing part it clips into
Well there is no disputing that.
From the pic supplied then someone has cut out the back of the recess for the clips to hold onto.

Aye.. its a bit of an odd one innit, not sure why its been left like that or if you can even buy the part that holds them in place

Yep, though to be honest it doesn't bother me, i just don't want to give plod a reason to pull me, or fail an mot.
I was wondering how it passed the MOT like that, but having looked at mine again, there are reflectors on the outside of the rear light clusters (presumably more for the US market) which could make it legal without the embedded rear bumper ones, as these are visible from behind. HTH

Perhaps you could put some black mesh over the holes.

I wonder if it would reduce swelling in the bumper, and increase it’s aerodynamic efficiency. If so, is a cool mod! Haha

Emailed previous owner yesterday about them, he said he liked the look with no reflectors and a gaping hole.

Could you Email him again and as if he removed any material from the fixings?

How weird is that :o

One strange owner with that being a preference - a reflector or a hole? :(

Then he filled in the cubby with a fake iDrive controller - no accounting for people taste :|

Now got rear reflectors :) 20210726_184530.jpg

Like to get to know a bit more about how you put twin pipes on both sides, how are these added and how did you cut the bumper

Most decent exhaust fabrication engineers can make you a quad system, bumper is probably from the 35i/is that have that set up already so an easy fit

It looks like a 35i/s system pipes, so how was this mod’ed and was the bumper cut/how was it cut?
