Boardman Bottom Brackets

Hi all

I purchased a Boardman bike £1000 worth so wasn't that cheap!

I've had it for 9 weeks now, within the 7th week my crank started to creak very loudly under pressure (i.e. hill climbing). So I took it to halfords and they kept it for 2 weeks and "replaced" the faulty crank!

This morning I use it for the first time and guess what same bloody creaking! Further investigation shows they never replaced it!!

Has anyone had issues with theirs?

Mine is a cartridge crank not the bb30 arrangement!

So unhappy about this bike... It's going back to halfords today and I'm gonna kick off!!!

I've not had that problem but you should take a refund...I thought the Boardman bikes gave you the best value for money but now I consider Planet X or Ribble racing.

The trouble with Halfords I'd they tend to have snotty nosed young kids doing assembly and repairs that don't real know what they are doing. I sold my Halfords bike and went to Evans cycles for an upgrade as they are specialists not jack of all trades.
Sorry I can't help on the crank issue, I just have no confidence in Halfords abilities!

Planet x give good value for money but if you normally ride Campag or Shimano gears make sure you stick with them and don't go for the SRAM option and the need to double click, separate up and down changers are much better

Did they say why they didn't replace, or what they did do.

They said we couldn't find a fault with it... So I asked why they had it for 2 weeks waiting for parts.... Didn't get a response! Just a blank look!
