BMWCCGB Zedfest, 26 – 28 July 2013, Silverstone Circuit

Yep, use whatever code to book and we can organise with the club to sort things later. Looks like BMW are going all out again this year and trying to wrap themselves in beemers. Just sign up for now. We could then do with a thread or whatever to list everyone that's going to see if we can be grouped as a forum. If there are any notes when buying tickets, put z4 forum in it otherwise we might have to send a list of people/regs for them to know where to go with us. Thing is they're trying to organise layout and without knowing numbers of people from the forum we may indeed just be put into sections.

Oh dear.. I may have landed myself in it here unless we can get a few people interested in this to ensure we get what we want?

Each of the codes is planned to have a co-ordinator at the moment the E85 code’s co-ordinator is Gary Hyde BUT we do not have a Z3 co-ordinator and as Gary Hyde has sold his Z4 it might be good if you fancied picking it up… however to be fair the co-ordinator will have a role which it is best to identify to you:

Each code will have it’s area marked out and then the co-ordinator is responsible for making sure that on each day he has enough help/ someone nominated to organise the cars into the area.

Also the co-ordinator is we hope going to be drumming up the attendee’s by being active on as many of the forums as possible.

Now if you were to be the co-ordinator for the E85 (and/or maybe the E86) then if you as the co-ordinator were to decide to group by forum that would be your bag so to speak (but you must look after all the attendee’s some who will come and be neither members of the club nor of a forum Good for recruitment).

Ref the Gazebo that is a yes as long as we get a formal request for one BUT I think only one per code makes sense unless we have 100 cars or something that are under one code then maybe we might be able to push for additional, also if you were the Gazebo for the E85 we would expect you to make everyone welcome. It would look daft if we had a tent for every ten cars.

I hope this helps! And I look forward to further communications on the subject.

I have copied Gary so that he knows the thoughts and can also communicate direct with you.'

You need a Car Club display ticket I think (that bit is important because it gets you infield parking with the rest of us) and I think it's £60 for 2 people on the Early Bird price. Most of us are there on the Saturday (parade lap at about 6pm) but some make a weekend of it and do Friday and or Sunday too.

When is it OG and where do I get a ticket from?

Appreciate your help mate

25th-27th July Luxy. The website is http://www.silverstoneclassic.com

In the previous two years someone from BMWCCGB has set up a thread on here with full details and list of people who are coming.

That may well be me this year... I'm a BMW CCGB member and I'm considering a volunteer part to organise all z4's and clubs this year, a stressful thankless take perhaps but we'd then get a say in where we go and also get permission for our own BBQ tent. We'll see.

So chaps, further to this, its quite an involved task to be part of the organising on forums and keep the communication levels up but it also means work on the day in terms of shepherding everyone to the right locations, ensuring everything is set up etc. Would anyone else be prepared, should I decide to step up to organise this for you all/all z4/3 owners to get mostly what we want; to help me on the day to ensure we've got people to check the route into our stand for debris/screws etc, to ensure everyone knows where to go, so to have people at various points to usher the cars in the right direction etc? Then to obviously have a few of us on stand (which wasn't a problem last year given tent+food=people) to help with any enquiries etc. It actually might be a bit more rewarding as we might get more BMW CCGB members signed up which is a very good thing for the club, as well as some new z4-forum members etc. Let me know your initial thoughts and provided I can get a handful of people to help me, I'll step into the admin role for this to get it all organised. Rest assured though I'll be speaking with some clout so I won't be messed around; its not a basic role and I fear it might be somewhat thankless to some point, but they're struggling to get volunteers to help with what is quite a bit more complex to organise event this year. It will be great no doubt for those just wanting to attend, and looking into this I'm realising the work that goes behind it, so I think I feel a little sense of wanting to pay back for all that the club and forum has given me over the years (subtracting the odd twit on here giving me a hard time). I know to some this might sound a bit heavy but provided we have the people, it won't be and for those that just want to show up, that's fine too.

What do you think? Anyone interested in giving me a hand on the day to ensure we get as much out of the show as we can? If not, again, its not an issue and I'll decline the request from the club, again without any issues.

Cheers guys, I'm just waiting to hear back from the club on what exactly is required. The first thing I'm clarifying is whether I'll need to be there all 3 days as I'd only intended to go on Saturday as per last year. If I'm needed there 3 days it may be a non starter for the physical organisation on site but I can at least get everything organised off site. I'll keep the thread updated...

Has another thread been started on this for this years event? Would be nice to track everyone who is going ....

I'm still waiting to hear back from the club on whether it's just a saturday gig for organising etc so I'll update here when I know more.
