Fat chance of that! This is a Grand Prix Circuit and they probably have to pay Bernie more bucks this year

jaxZ4 said:I'm really disappointed I cannot attend this year due to a clash with the Commonweatlh Games but as far as value for money I think it was great value last year - we had a 3 day tickets for not much more and although only attended briefly on the Friday - including some of the music, all day Saturday and Sunday morning ( the latter spent rummaging around the pit garages, watching the 911 event and other racing) - all for something like £80 - it's fantastic.
I do think you need to look at is as MUCH more than Zedfest - which is after all only a tiny tiny portion of the overall event (it's not a just BMW event remember)- you need to see some racing, walk round the place, visit other car stands, take WAY too many photos, jump on and off the buses that take you round, get in the pit lane garages and generally soak up the atmosphere and maybe even buy some souvenir stuff.
Even sitting in the Pit Lane café was great fun.
I think if all you do is sit around the Z4 stand (and I'm not saying that anyone actually done this)then yes you might be disappointed. Include infield parking with your car "on show", which many forum members enjoyed - though it might not float everyone's boat. Combine that with meeting forum members from all over the UK - rather than just your local(ish) crew made a fabulous weekend. (even sharing a joke with some Z3 folk).
We drove 330 miles each way, stopped at the Holiday In express with a good deal and enjoyed beers and dinner with others forum members and generally made a full weekend of it. Really - I thought the ticket price was nothing ( yeah even for a Scotsman !)
Yeah sure, if you're local pop in for just a few hours Saturday but you will miss out on the entire Silverstone Classic event which you don't even really need to be into cars in a big way to enjoy. Roll on 2015 for me.![]()

Stuart Truman said:So, M-Power or E85? Similar dilemma to the Alpina owners. Tbh I'd just like all the Z4's from the forum to be together again...
Stuart Truman said:Seems like they're putting cars together by type. We'll see.
