i have a question, what happens if I get bored and decide I can't be bothered stopping for the parade lap (sounds like a very long day), will I be stuck cos I am infield or will I be permitted to leave mid afternoon?

This was something that had crossed my mind..

I don't mind that I'll get home late, just need to ensure I can keep Wee Bing amused for 10 hours

Ye doesnt bother me in the slightest. Its going to be an epic day! Especially with everything else thats going on too. There is so much to see there wasnt enough time to see it all last year. So def making up for it this year by going for the full weekend.

Cant wait to see the 50 years of 911 apparently it was over subscribed before March! Not only that but 100 years of Aston Martin there should be some amazing rarity there, 50 years of Lamborghini, 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette! (love corvettes too especially stingrays) Sabine Schmitz  her silverstone debut in a 220mph 962! Looking forward to seeing the concert on Sat too with the ultimate eagles! (me and dad love the eagles lol ((although not the real band will still be awesome) Red devils Parachute Regiment Freefall Team that should be a good watch.

There is so much going on over the weekend not just showing the car. I really cant wait! Going to be a memorable weekend!

Also my friend has a classic car race team and got us a pass to get into the pits which will be really cool :D Get some good pics :camera:

I think as there is so much going on, with racing and other anniversary celebrations, live music, guitar demos etc. there will be plenty to see and keep everyone amused. I'm slightly puzzled that some find they might get bored when the tickets are valid for the full 3 days of the event ! We're travelling 330 miles to be there so absolutely will want to be part of the parade lap - even if last year's partial hoon cannot be repeated. We'll probably stay for the evening stuff too and return again briefly on the Sunday ! :driving:

Yeah, there loads going on - though our tickets are Saturday only. WB will be fine, and will definitely want to do the lap :driving:

CONTACT DARREN IF YOU STILL NEED DISPLAY PASS TICKETS - just received an email from him with some further updates & saying there are a few of these left

Looking at all he has been doing for the weekend, if you should bump into him would like to suggest we thank him... from my experience of organising a couple of hoons, know how much effort this takes so managing an event this size must be... challenging at the very least

Which page number has got details for where the Zeds meet for the convoy and time? I heard a rumour it was a 7:30-8am start? Driving up from London means I will have to allow ample time to get there if I'm definitely going. Can someone point me in the right direction and page number (or indeed start another thread). I'm not worried I'll get bored so much as it will be a very long day if I wait till parade lap (and a ridiculously early start), likely be v hot too. I know they'll be lots to see and do though.

do we have to convoy in?

I think not. Am I right in thinking we have to be in before 10am? My post is at my parents so haven't got the tickets yet. Emails were too long for me to read.

No you don't have to convoy in. I didn't last year.

I just got an email from Duncan (BMW car club) with some more info and for those who haven't got a ticket yet there is a window of opportunity or for those with the wrong ticket a chance to rectify things. There's also a link to a dropbox site with Sat Nav routes, Car Info pro-forma's and all sorts (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2n0d5rh4pqtk93c/4Y0oLNXTD8). I hope this is useful!

In the last few days a further series of questions have been asked in particular about tickets.

The Tickets are now being distributed and people are getting them daily.
Some People are getting an email saying that their tickets have been dispatched, these people are those that paid for secure delivery; their tickets arrive by recorded delivery. If you did not pay for this service you do not get the email and your tickets just arrive in the post as normal.
Some people have not used the CCM code and have ended up purchasing a single ticket, when we have investigated they did not put their Registration number in either. We have so far been able to resolve this issue of no display pass (officially called a Vehicle Infield Pass)
Some people who notified us of their second car have forgotten that the second display pass is arriving in a separate envelope and have queried where their tickets are, they are on their way, but as said originally under separate cover.
At least one person input both his registration numbers and has confirmed that he has both his display passes and the tickets that he order in one package.
Some people are asking why they have not got the parade lap signing on sheet. This is because at the time the tickets were identified against the cars not all cars where entitled to the parade lap. As all BMW cars under the Clubs Banner are now entitled please print of the instructions and Signing on form by downloading from here and filling them in BEFORE you arrive at the event please.
People are still asking me if Friday late arrivals will be able to get in and I again re-iterate it is worth trying, talk nicely to the Stewards with your display pass in hand as they ³may² let you come in and join us on Friday, it is however as I said previously at their discretion. Saturday that leeway will not exist.
We have improved the access to the GPS files and the Parade sign on sheet so you can also get them from this link now as well as the previous one.
In the folder that Darren has prepared with the files in for people to download you will also find that he has prepared a nice Please keep off the Car notice so if you wish to make use of this please feel free. (file called Please do not touch²)
Darren has also prepared his own detail sheet of information about one of his cars (file called ³Darren M3 Spec Sheet²) and has included it in the folder so that people can either use it as an example to base their own on or download and modify to suit their own ideas of what they would like to say. Again any of the links will take you there.

Finally we have a few Spare Tickets for those that you may know someone that wants to get involved.

As a club (BMW Car Club GB) we have a very small number of tickets with display passes which Club Members who have not yet got tickets will be allowed to purchase to help get them involved. (Saturday display passes will include the Parade lap)

We need to know what days they wish to attend (we will favour the three days due to involvement, then Saturday & Sunday, then Friday & Saturday, then individual days) so can you let please me know the days you wish to attend.

The club will sell them a ticket for which we will charge the full price and put the money into the clubs coffers. Then we will also supply the Display pass. We will then leave them to get what they need as additional admission tickets as they are still available and doing it this way enables us to help as many as we can to join in the event that might otherwise not be able to get their cars in.

Please do not call the office about it. We ³the committee² will determine who get the tickets by the factor of maximum involvement.

We have very few tickets but if you are a member (even if a new member) after a three day ticket then you are almost certain to be able to get involved! (until we run out of tickets)

We will try and sell the three days first as that will provide the maximum involvement! We feel we should maximise involvement. Closer to the event if the three days do not sell we might split them up for smaller day packages. The main thing we are offering at this stage obviously is the display pass rather than any discount. When we have no display passes and the Saturday tickets are gone we will offer the additional Friday and Sunday tickets to people who can use them for donations to the clubs coffers.

I have copied the price table in from the Silverstone classic web site and we will not be charging the Booking fee even though I will be posting the ticket and display pass out.

... picked up my tickets today 8)

Even had a form for the parade lap inside

Silverstone preparation has commenced. Cleaned it off last night because it was cooler no point cleaning in the day water just bakes straight onto the car.

Today it's warm but overcast so spent all morning claying it. Looks awesome so all afternoon will be spent polishing and waxing then tomorrow I will do the interior!

Exciting! Can't wait!

Although by the time I drive down it will be filthy again! Lol

Right had a very exciting mail delivery this morning :)

Got a new ticket with a blue window sticker. And forms for the parade lap happy days

That's good news MM, daughter is making all the noises that she wants to come along. Not convinced as she has a lower attention span than me, but we'll see...

Yeah very happy about sorting it out. Best start cleaning the car now!! The car is a work in progress at the moment lots of things started nothing finished....

We still meeting up on the A40 Stuart? Or just on the A34?

I washed mine under a gazebo yesterday! Doing some polishing with the DA bit by bit. Bonnet and front & rear bumpers done so far. Just the tailgate and roof to do because the sides don't need it. Quick wash on Friday evening to get any dust off and an internal hoover & tidy up and she'll be good to go on Saturday morning.

I was going to make a start cleaning mine but I've done my chuffin back in, I can't bloomin move urghhhhhhh
