To be fair with the weather we are having it would look like a SOS
by the time I get there anyway.
 
UPDATE - PARADE LAP

Ok folks, so we now have some guidance for our parade lap:

1. The celebration Z Lap is marshal controlled at ALL times - excessive speed IS NOT welcomed

2. The maximum speed will be ~35/40 MPH

3. There are likely to be ~250 zeds on the track with you

4. ALL cars should follow the Chief Display Marshal, keeping in line as when starting the lap

5. PAY ATTENTION AT ALL TIMES to the marshal. Use your mirrors and prepare for the unexpected

As we get closer to the day I'm hoping to have a confirmation of timings, formation etc. Please keep checking this thread for the very latest situation.
 
I'm not going to be able to make this after all. Having to work the weekend. No choice. Gutted. Tickets arrived last week, wasted.

Most gutted about missing the parade lap. Please get lots photos.
 
Hopefully we'll get to see a few of the old classic F1 cars racing again. Just uploaded a few snaps from the Friday practice day at Silverstone. As long as they don't bring the weather with them we'll be good!

Hiya Stark.
I shall be there at the track on the Friday, have booked in to stay up
there from Thursday afternoon to get into Silverstone nice and early
Friday. :driving:
 
I'm meeting up with a load of guys at Specialist Cars Stevenage if anyone fancies a run up there? I believe the dealership is also putting on some complimentary breakfast and a coffee.

Has anyone here been to silverstone on an event day.. any tips such as roads to avoid? I'm coming in from MK on the A5, and I can see an alternative route the cuts straight across instead but I'm wondering if its a poor road or whether all roads around silverstone on the day will be as bad as each other? Looks like a 30 minute run, so I'm guessing, with traffic anywhere up to an hour to get there with queuing etc.
 
Advice is to expect some delays, though follow the instructions on yr infield pass as I understand this is different.

Otherwise, my Zed is cleaned externally & not allowed out from its Zed nest except for a refuel & hoover if we get a dry evening later this week.

Pack of 30 microfiber cloths r in the boot, along with tickets, license, umbrella, raincoat, bucket & camera...

Roll on Saturday....

Mine is lovely and clean, been out today as it is sunny and dry... Unfortunately I need to go to Hatfield on Thursday - and the forecast is rain :x

Will be busy Thursday/Friday, though rain looks likely on the way up to Silverstone, so proably wasted effort... Need to find the paper part of my licence too :?
 
I've got a ticket for the Friday too, but not sure what I'll be doing there, or whether it will be me kicking my heels....so might just leave it til the Saturday
