What was that yellow ribbon tied to some Z3's all about? Around their wing mirrors...

Their version of Taz's badges. How to spot your fellow forumites. I preferred our badges :)

A bit daft - aren't yellow ribbons supposed to indicate your support for servicemen/women abroad in a conflict? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_ribbon)

A bit poncy as well IMO if it was just intended to identify fellow Forum members.

...and also a bit pointless identifying cars, as their owners were likely wandering around. They should have wrapped the ribbon around their necks! ;)

Ill browse all the photo's later when not at work, but looks like a great day....

now I know where all the nice looking cars (old porsche's / ferrari's / triumphs etc) where headed to on the M40 early sunday morning...

I was headed south though...

we have stickers for the cars and badges for members

Some of them had number plate covers with their forum name on to identify the car to the owner. I thought that was over the top, but a lot of people I spoke to liked the idea...

Maniac, what was wrong with the Z3's, dont you like them? - and why would you say to wrap the ribbons around their necks :|

Never said anything for or against the z3's did I? Never driven one but always thought they looked cool.

Ribbons around their necks like scarves, to show they were part of the club? Seemed pointless to mark the cars when it's the people you want to find and talk to surely?

Hi Maniac
The marshalls had requested that 'they' would need to identify a particular Z3 group from the rest just for parking purposes and they came up with the idea if a ribbon was tied on the car, they would be easily seen for filtering at the gates should the group be fragmented on arrival.
The forum name plates for a few were just a bit of fun but actually they identified peeps too throughout the day :D

Sing along now... "Oh tie a yellow ribbon 'round the old Zed threeee"

personally i think the ribbon was a good idea, it did what it was ment to do, perhaps something else could have been used but what?

the plates were also good, just a bit of fun

In any case, looking forward to finding out !

@ Taz - agree, I liked the plates

I shall have some plates with 69 on, along with a suitable graphic. I'm sure my fellow forumites will appreciate it and Mrs old curmudgeonly won't mind at all...
