BMWCCGB Zedfest, 20 – 22 July 2012, Silverstone Circuit

Am I right in thinking we're actually going to drive on the track? If so I find it incredible weve not been given details of this, what time, the etiquette etc? Seems a bit detached in the organisation and management of this Whole thing tbh?

Yes there is a parade lap around the circuit for all display Zeds.

Without reading through the entire thread through I'm pretty sure it's been posted already that it's happening around midday. It's certainly common knowledge (seen it posted on other forums).

The car club are looking to post some more information (through Myredzed) hopefully in the next few days.

Think I need to get myself signed up to the BMWCCGB

Really looking forward to this, as is Wee Bing

Yeah I saw that too but it's all a but wafty for me, I'm more your tell the ticket payers and display cars what they need to do kind of guy!

UPDATE - PLEASE READ IF ATTENDING ZEDFEST 2012!

To make sure you dont waste time getting into the correct entry area, please study the "Car Club Infield Display " information sent with your ticket and windscreen car park area sticker.

Enter as shown through car park 49, signed on Left side before roundabout. Allow time to get through the coned lanes, until the Ticket Check. Once clear, proceed to T Junction and turn Right. After 100 Mtrs on Left side note sign BMWCCGB to turn LEFT into our Display area.

Please pay attention to the Club's HiViz Marshals, and take direction to colour coded parking areas:

Z1 - Green
Z3 Roadster/Coupe - Red
Z4 Roadster/Coupe - Blue

Please look out for individual signs in these areas for Model types as requested by a number of owners.

In view of the weather conditions suffered at the parking areas, please ensure YOU drive slowly on our grass display area at all times, and treat OUR Marshals with Respect at all times - remember, they are trying to help you to enjoy this event.

It probably goes without saying but just to make sure - be CAREFUL when you open your doors to ensure that you don't ding the adjacent car.

...and do try and park in a straight line, it looks so much better on the photos :D

Thanks for your understanding and let's have a great zedfest!

Thanks for the info.. There won't be any dings in my car as I will steadfastly refuse to park too close to another car and that's non negotiable. There's no event on earth I'd enjoy while worrying what is about to happen to my car!

After my unfortunate speeding ticket on the way home from the National Meet yesterday I will be sans my driving licence for Zedfest unless DVLA get it back really quickly. I only have the bit at the bottom of the speeding ticket at the moment (which is a legal driving licence). Can anyone connected with the BMWCCGB confirm I won't encounter any difficulties getting on track to do the parade lap please? As a precaution I've photocopied both parts of my licence as well.

sorry about that, but glad i was not travelling all the way with you, i lost you as we went onto the M60, i was just too fast for you hehe

The event's for everyone, it's just the BMWUKCC are organising the largest collection of Zeds in one place for some record... expect there will be some prizes for the best in each colour... probably one of my microfiber cloths.

I think I may even have a spare ticket for Sat, mate's not coming though there's a 50% chance of my son riding shotgun. Let me check this week & will let u know

Like many others we were watching the parking chaos at the f1 this weekend worrying about what parking is like at 'our' site. Any news would be gratefully received, as no one is going to risk their p&j getting towed on or off a muddy field - fingers crossed the weather improves for good photo ops too : camera:
