Just spotted one near central park in NY.

The wife didnt let me get overly excited and take more pics (from the front) while it was stuck in traffic.

Have to say even though it was dirty look stunning.

Had some spundtrack to it too when the woman booted it at the lights!

Sadly though all the NY taxi's with their big V8 sound just as meaty! :lol:

There's not a lot of external references to tell the difference between a Z8 and a V8 Roadster (other than the wheels).

But the Alpina had a different steering wheel & gearbox (auto only), so a closer look at the interior might have given us the answer.
 
A front shot would have confirmed it as I think (from a quick google) the front bumper has the trademark Alpina lower skirt (splitter ?) fitted.

The dials were indeed bright indigo (which i noticed after i crossed over and had one final look back.

Sorry couldnt take any better pics... Aside from the embarrassment (was infront of the apple store so crowd packed) the wife was also giving me the sigh and looks of disapproval!

Indeed a true Alpina from the steering wheel. The ''regular'' Z8 has a banjo type wheel, the Alpina has black leather spokes with silver bars, just like the one on the first pic.
