Never seen the phrase "desirable beige" used with so much confidence before, but the car looks great and the price is good.

Would definitely be worth posting the service history, line by line. Also, your oil filler cap is on upside down, which will get some people's eyes twitching.

Nice looking car, I had its brother in roadster form. The forum is full of very discerning and knowledgeable Z4 enthusiasts some of who I’m sure will be interested in your car.

A bit more info about the car would help a lot though, what condition are the tyres and brakes for example. Have you had any non servicing work done like a VANOS overhaul or a gearbox oil change? Comprehensive details of the service history is a good idea too. Some interior photos would be helpful too.

Have a look in the for sale section at some of the other adverts for some pointers.

GLWTS.

Saw it today, was in good condition both in and out, computer was tripped showing RED TMC and no date, guy didnt give a reason why, battery looked recently replaced and all the clips missing around the housing.

This car came up in the other tread https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1586277#p1586277 I love the look of the car but the computer trip would worry me.

Yea seen it lovely car, my views are below (please note i am not an engineer).

The guy selling is is 100% legit, really nice, very professional and wasn't just saying things to try and sell the car!

Pro's
+ Its Red!
+ Great Bodywork Condition
+ Great Interior Condition

Negatives
- No real clue on the mechanical condition as its being sold on behalf of the owner - Sounds absolutely fine from a cold start
- No cruise control (2nd Stalk)
- No folding lekky wing mirrors
- No receipts for maintenance before 2015
- Same faults shown in MoT history (Multi Years Running)
- MoT due november (but will have a new MoT when its sold)
- Last Inspection II was in 2011, Inspection I was 2017
- Priced 2k over average because its red regardless of history
- Computer was tripped, Red TMC & Dates blanked out (Reset)
- Pins missing from the battery enclosure / loosely covered

Thought it was about right with the mileage stated, didn’t know you pay extra for red looks like I might’ve been done ha ha,wouldn’t bother me if it’s wot I was after,as nice as they look in black or blue I know wot I would go for

What do you mean by this, just out of interest? I'm not sure what TMC is, in this context.

Do you mean that the date/time needed to be set, the same as would be the case if you replaced the battery, or something else?

No GPS satilites found for TMC , mostly likey because the computer was tripped when battery was replaced.

Ah cool, yeah I did wonder whether it was TMC as in traffic. I wouldn't know, my spec is flimperish...

Don’t think TMC uses seats in that way. Did the car know where it was on nav?

TMC requires the radio tuned into a station that supports TMC. It’s very fickle.

Regarding spec, very few of these cars have electric folding mirrors.

Cruise control on the other hand is very easy to retrofit. I could supply and fit for you for £175.

The other things don’t sound that significant. You will struggle to find a perfect ///M, let alone a perfect ///M in 8mola from a private seller.

Nah was blank red TMC was centre front of the display. Again this is overkill it was most likely a battery disconnect but was worth mentioning.

My Imola coupe had foldy mirrors

No cruise though

I know the guy I sold it too has now sold it on, and the cherished plate has now come off

Was SP07 ZNS and 323NKN

Dare say it’s still knocking around

Thanks for all the feedback guys...here are just a few comments to hopefully help some of the questions raised:

Service history (mileage and date):
1,189 & 30/11/2006 (Running-in Check)
13,187 & 19/03/2008 (Oil Service + Micro-filter)
27,799 & 14/08/2009 (Inspection I + Micro-filter)
40,449 & 22/01/2011 (Oil Service)
53,124 & 20/12/2011 (Inspection II + Micro-filter)
66,215 & 01/03/2013 (Oil Service + Micro-filter)
79,953 & 26/08/2015 (Oil Service)
84,729 & 07/06/2017 (Inspection I)

Discs and Pads are almost brand new with receipt to show.

The battery was also replaced late this summer which I believe is what caused the computer trip.

Many thanks

Nothing really wrong with that history. I'm surprised it didnt have it's inspection 1@ 79,953 & 26/08/2015 (Oil Service) but it was done 5K later so no biggy.

Whats the reg, keen to see the advisories that keep cropping up as I bet they are nothing to worry about also.

TMC will be in red unless the radio is receiving a station that supports TMC. That means you have to be listening to that particular station if you are using the radio. If you are using another audio input or none at all, the sat nav will use the radio tuner for TMC. Of course, if you are not in range if a TMC station, you cannot receive TMC. Around London, my ///M would only receive TMC from Classic FM.
The absence of a date and time simply means these have not been set since the battery was last disconnected. None of that sounds concerning.
