BMW Z4 Wheels - Why Touching / Rubbing

Hey guys,

This is my first post but I've been reading a little while now.

I have a 2003 3.0 litre convertible and recently purchased a set of 19" wheels. The wheels are not staggered and the same set up. They are 8.5" wide and the offset is either 35 or 37 (I believe 35 but could be 37). They are at the garage at the moment.

From everything I've read, an 8.5" with either of these above offsets will fit and not cause any rubbing or turning issues. Rears are fine. Fronts touch on full left or full right turn. They are fitted with a 235/35/19.

Does anyone know why I'm getting this issue on full lock? I thought this offset was fine?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Could it be because the tyre diameter is 10mm more and tyre width is 10mm more (so 5mm extra each side)?

I have 19s on my Zed with 8.5s on the front and the car has been lowered and I have no rubbing issues.
The offsets are 35 so the only difference is the tyre size. I have 225/35/19s as opposed to your 235s.
As mmm-five said that 10mm width seems to make the difference.
On full lock I only have about 5mm clearance.
