Sounds to me like you've just got a combination of a useless warranty company, an incompetent lazy main dealer whose solution to any problem is replace everything and a few common problems occurring together.
I'd say stick with your indie as they seem to know what they are doing. Still, you've had more problems than I had with two beemers across three years and 70,000 miles

sorry to hear this... bmw's (not just Z4's) do like to have electrical problems.. and sadly once you get them they are a pain to get rid of.
Sounds like the dealer Soper did a shoddy job to be honest (i have used them for their parts and found those guys brilliant)
Did your warranty not cover it all though? as surely they cant say thats wear and tear/ expendables?
As above sadly the 2.0 seems to be the most plagued with issues

Joining just to have a whinge, ah well - too little too late. Do something constructive and complain to the right people... At least we have a heads-up not to buy it!

Rule 1: Most private owners change their car because they have experienced problems or are worried it's going to cost them a fortune to keep on the road.
Rule 2: Most buyers are so thrilled and excited about the prospect of buying the car they really really want, they overlook Rule 1 above.
Rule 3:If you are not experienced at checking a cars condition and history pay for a examination or buy approved-used,
Rule 4: Check the warranty is reputable and actually covers the things that are likely to go wrong,
Rule 5: If you ignore rules 1 - 4 you look like fair game and unless you have cast iron recommendations don't expect anybody to keep repair costs down, they usually won't.
Rule 6: double-check rules 1-5 if it's a 2.0
Seriously though I feel for you, I've ignored 'the rules' in the past and bought right in to someone else's Lemon and it's a gut-wrenching feeling. But once you have sorted the gremlins you will have a good car 8)

Lambda sensor. Who cares? I find the OP to be a bit wet. Boo hoo. It was only a few bits and bobs plus a comedy quote from Sopers. If you can't laugh at a comedy quote you are being too miserable. Lighten up.

Quite, I had a pre-cat lambda go, to be expected really. PITA to change but you have a choice, pay someone to do it or square yourself away. Either of these options fix the problem. Joining a forum and welling up over it does not.
