BMW Z4 pre-2009

Hello All,

I am a new member from Malta and this is my first post. I currently own a BMW 5 Series (E60) and am interested in purchasing a Z4 coupe for my wife. Due to budget constraints I can only afford 2006/2007 models. I have some queries which maybe some members can help me with.

1) The coupe is only available in the 3.0 litre engine. What actual MPG do you guys get? My E60 diesel is very economical so I would like what the Z is like?
2) Is the any thing like Z4 coupe 'M Sport' such as the other BMW range?
3) Are white Coupe's really that hard to find? Autotrader only lists 1 from over 134 cars.
4) Is it practical as an everyday car (20 Miles x2 each day).
5) Any problems I should be aware of on this model?

Hi and welcome....

1) The 3.0si is very economical (for what it is) motorway cruising easily returns 40mpg+.
2) You can get a sport and se spec... the sport offers the usual m sport refinement minus any additional bodykit.
3) I have only ever seen 1 white non-m coupe.
4) Depends what you wil luse it for. Grocery shopping and commuting to work is fine.... taking kids/ long sporting weekend then there is not enough boot space!
5) Broken springs are fairily common on all E85/6 Z4's easy and cheap fix though.
 
Hi as Aquazi has answered everything for you , the only thing i'll add is that i do 25 miles x 2 each day motorway/a/b roads, its quite comfortable and i reguarly achieve 30mpg
and point 5, 2006 model 3.0 N52 engines suffer with a tapping sound from noisy lifters which requires a new head (sometimes) costing into the thousands (if the noise gets on your nerves)
