Zabine the Z. The first female car I've owned believe it or not. My first car was a Clio (Thomas) and I've also owned a Cooper S named Merv.

My Astra does not deserve a name...

We both have names for our cars.

Strangely though we each use the same names but apply them to different vehicles.





The names are: "Your Car" and "My Car".

Which is a play on my private number plate of 'Mighty... spelt wrong' M16 THY so it would read MIGTHY.... Hense Migzy!

Prior to coming into my possession my brother in law owned my car for a short while and he named it for some reason I'm to frightened to ask "Buck" . Once it had me in the driving seat the name was instantly disposed of and it became known as my car, the Z4 or the motor.

I confess mine is called Bruce (in my slightly confused mind i think it looks slightly like bruce the shark from finding nemo!) and my 3.0si Before was called Ronnie (not entirely sure why!)

I honestly think its a bit naff to name a car. Its a machine.
It's also not one of many we have in our lives that we have to single out for identification by giving it a name.

I thought about it once but quickly got a grip.

I always wanted to name a car or motorbike. In the 90s I went ahead and named my Triumph Daytona 1200 'Beaufighter' in honour of a friend who won the DFC in WW2 as part of the North Coates Strike Wing. I loved that bike and it got a lot of attention - people always asking about it and taking photos.
