BMW Z4 M40i Roadster Testing (Video)

Be lucky if they sell half what the last Z4 sold. The market is saturated with second cars for the Sunday drive enthusiast.
Also these Z4 cars are a bit big for garages, so the Sunday drivers prefer smaller cars such as MX5 or Z3.
The last Zed had to compete with it the earlier version.
Only reason i joined the Zed club was the retractable hard roof, which is great for a daily driver.

The Z3 is old and the MX5 isn’t my cup of tea. So I wouldn’t rule the new one out just yet.
I also like the folding hard top but a rag top also has advantages in so much that it doesn’t rob the already small boot space My car is a fine weather top down motoring toy and a holiday road road car

It’s doubtful I will buy the new version as mine is only two in September and will only have done 6,5k by then. But never say never!

I'm not sure I agree with this - I see a lot of current Z4s out on the road on weekdays. Yes, the hardtops help with a daily drive, but I also see a lot of TTs and Boxsters with fabric hoods out on the road on weekdays too.

All the pundits thought that the X6 was a little crazy and niche, but look how well that has sold!

I think it'll do just fine.

I see all two seaters as toys
Pre family a two seater is fine and can generally be used as a daily drive but as soon as family arrives it becomes a toy. - there’s a brief respite pre grandchildren
