BMW Z4 GT3!

om nom nom nom

They will presumably not be convertibles and have a fixed roof.

Surely the shocking point of this is..

they've put the M3 V8 in it !

So... I'd say it's just become about 50% more likely a Z4M is coming with the 4.0 V8 from the M3. Sweeeeeeeet. :D

Trouble is would they sell many? Top spec 35is is coming out over £52,000!! :o

An M version would be competing with the likes of the Nissan GTR. Only on price though!

Bit like you though, I bought nearly new (7months & 1300 miles) and saved £17k on list.

GTR's hold their value better, so BMW are their own victim of setting prices too high.

I'd have a 12 month old Z4M - it really would be a fab car.. New Idrive, DCT, M Susp.... *drool*

Anyway don't spoil my fun - there's an official E89 with an M3 V8 in it. Exciting day.

The key point of this is that the M3 V8 has been fitted, which ups the chances of a replacement Z4M hitting the streets.

This particular car is for racing, and the picture that accompanies the text is not the picture of the GT3 edition but of a normal production model. This will be a replacement for the BMW Motorsport Z4M we saw before (the lairy, be-winged, wide-arched edition!) and not a road-going model.

Yep.. hadn't seen that.. it says "Production Model" next to it too.. Can any E89 owners see anything different about the car in the picture? They look like 19s but that looks like the non-M Sport, non-iS front bumper too.. so it could just be a library picture..

I'd swap to one in 18months I reckon, assuming it's not fixed roof. Another keeper methinks..

I think that's a library pic on that article.

I wonder how close to this pic it will look?

Yes the whole point of this is that the M3 v8 has been placed in the current Z4. We know it fits now. It can be made into a production model surely?

GTR is a compeltley different beast so I wouldnt compare them both. 2 seater and a 4 seater to start with. AWD and RWD. etc. hell whatever if it comes out as andy says i will wait 18 months and when prices down will get one.

OR, means your local hotrod joint can build you one. Retrofit, anyone???????

I've thought about the 335 engine in my 07 coupe. Same engine base, just added turbos.
