So I was searching my local BMW scrap yard for the trunk ski hatch as I damaged my old one and I don't like the look of the trunk with it missing and while I was there I found this part. It is part No: 11 in the below diagram. It's called a pad. I did a bit of googling but can't seem to find exactly what it is used for. it is also called a loading trim. Something to do with a loading mat, bag or something? If anyone could please shed some light on what this is used for exactly I would be very appreciative.
