BMW Z4 E85 3.0 manual £8000 low mileage

Hi everyone.

I’m new to the forum, and after long reflection and tests I want a z4 to have some fun on the week end.

I’m looking for a e85 Z4 3.0l manual (I prefer the pre facelift but the post facelift can be considered). Under 75k miles and under 8k. Does that seem right ?

(I can also consider a 2.5se still under 75k mileage but in that case for a good price.)

If you know anyone who’s selling something like above let me know !!

(Also wondering if some people had auto abs how was it for the resale because I’m considering it as the price are way lower ? )

Thanks everyone!

£8k is facelift 3.0Si roadster money...

If you want a preface-lift 3.0 then £8K is very top end and, frankly, I’d be expecting a low owner, very low mileage, fully maintained almost concours level car for that sort of money... even in the current crazy (inflated) market place.

agreed , I'd not pay more than 5k for a pre facelift tbh..6k is if was exceptional, low mileage, fully loaded perhaps, when the current bubble bursts you could be left with a 3k car

Thanks for the informations. To be honest the price on like “auto trader” are crazy so I wasn’t sure if my budget was right. it seem like I found some 3.0l around 8k with less than 60k mileage. I will be patient and wait for the good one as your response gave me confidence to find the good one!

(Ps: if you guys found a car who seem for me let me know ! )

Well firstly welcome to the forum.

I'd echo what others have already said but if you want the very desirable M-Sport seats you might be better off looking for a facelift Sport model as they all had them as standard, whereas pre-facelifts and facelift SE models only got them as an option.

FWIW the 3.0i power output was rated at 231PS and the facelift 3.0Si at 265PS. However the facelift 2.5Si was still 218PS so might be an option if you find a good one (there were never that many 3.0Sis sold) - just avoid the facelift 2.5i as it's only 177PS.

Anyway good luck finding the right one.

I've got a late 3.0si in Ruby Black coming up for sale soon, once I get the wheels refurbished. 2009, 68k, extended leather black & cream .Will be about £8k min. Message me if you want more details.

Thanks I still looking around as people said here I might just be able to found the low mileage. my budget is my limit but i would really like to got a low mileage.
And thanks Mr Tidy I do get than the 3.0si is just better equipped. M sport seat steering wheels with control. But Am I the only one here who think the pre facelift front is lovely haha?

If you guys have to quote a z4 well equipped under 40 000 mileage 3.0 se vs 3.0 si you would turn around which price?

Thanks

Ps. For the people who message me directly I still cant respond to pm as Im a noob here.

Hi and welcome.
You now have 3 posts so you can PM.
For what it's worth, I agree the pre-facelift looks better, but for me that's the rear lights.
Good luck with your search.

No doubt the 3.0se is better value but the 3.0si is the better car imho, small differences add up to a lot when you are keeping the car long term

I've noticed it's the low mileage cars that people are putting silly prices on. low mileage doesn't always mean a better looked after car. I'd seriously recommend looking out for forum cars and not to worry too much if they are a bit higher than you were looking for, e.g. 60-80k.

I also think if you have the budget, you'd be better off buying the si and putting a pre facelift front on it. keep the original one to put back on at sale time. it'll be a better car in the long run.

I mean the LOW mileage like less than 40k for me will just maintain is value because its become of a real classic. I would love to found a good one around 60k in my budget in SI but right now even on the forum I found people who put 3.0SI for 7.6k with 110k miles..

Also I might have found one 3.0SE 35000 miles for 7K. No M seat in no heated unfortunately but the rest seem perfect full serviced. At this price seem fair?

Number 5 has said he will shortly be selling his car - that will be very well looked after and worth taking a look at even if the mileage is a little higher than you want, everyone will tell you buy on condition not mileage

If you want to try and retain value, the 3.0Si is the rarest of all non-M E85’s other than an Alpina.

It’s the car to have and, I believe, is becoming one of the most sought after ‘real world - modest budget’ Z’s

Congratulations, I'm sure you;'re going to have a wonderful summer of fun ahead of you (and many more after this one).

i too ended up with the 3.0i. after initially wishing i'd held out for a 30.si a few blasts with the roof down made me forget all about it (quick check that you bought a roadster :) )
