BMW Z4 day Oulton Park today

I managed to get an invite to drive the new Z4 at Oulton Park today. :thumbsup:

Turned out to be a great day really with breakfast and lunch provided by BMW, a look around 4 Z4s in a mini showroom with some technical talk thrown in, then a good spell out in the M3 Master cars blasting around the track. We then had a long 45 minute drive in one of 14 Z4 35i's they had there as demos (some good ex-demo cars coming up in the future! All were silver or blue)

It's a very nice car to drive and it certainly went quickly enough with the DCT gearbox, looks the part but lacked a certain something that perhaps an 'M' version would provide. Very good car though. Thanks BMW for a FREE day out!!!
 
Not sure really. To be honest the 35i will be quick enough for most and there's always tuning which will take the power up to 360 BHP if you want it. The V8 would have to be something really special to make you want to pay £50K for it. Car looks great in Havana colour sort of dark greyish, also suits space grey.

I'll wait til Winter and see what sort of ex-demos are about. BMW really think this car is going to sell well taking a lot of sales from Mercedes and from drivers who want a convertible but want the security of a tin top.
