BMW Z4 car cover

Hi, I've just won a brand new genuine BMW Z4 car cover for the E85 on EBay , it was delivered this morning as stated it is absolutely brand new with all the fitting instructions etc, my question is has any one else got one they use and judging by the instruction you put the bag it is supplied in on the windscreen (rubber sucky thing to hold it in place) and unwrap it and leave the bag there, the only thing is the top cover of the bag lays on the bonnet with the zip touching the paint work, not the ideal thing on nice shiny paint work, there is a large tab that joins the two together so I have cut the bag off so it won't rub, has any one else done this thanks for any answers Andy

This sounds a bit strange to me Andy. Sucker the bag to the windscreen you say? I thought the cover just came in the bag (I have an indoor OEM one that works like a standard cover and the bag is just stored somewhere. Any pictures?

He's right re the bag, it's attached to the cover. I've got a BMW one for my E89 and it's the same. I haven't had it on yet so don't know. Never gave it any thought. Interested to hear solutions thought

On mine its all plastic, the zip thing and I position it over the gap between bonnet and windsreen, if you cut it off you loose the top part of the bag thar it folds back into.... :o

It's been on a few weeks now with the bag cut off, it hasn't affected anything, the tab that joined the bag to the cover is at least 2 inches wide and I cut it down the middle, had no leaks and the bag is folded in the garage, now I look at it the bag would have probably folded inside out on the screen but would have looked lumpy under the cover so I'm ok with it cut off
