BMW Z4 badges

The front hood badge has 3 pins inserted into rubber plugs, just have to carefully pry up with plastic trim tool.
The rear badge is held on with double stick foam tape, I heated mine up with a hair dryer and pry up with the same tool.
 
The front roundel is secured from behind by two small metal self-threading nuts (10mm ?) that wind onto two plastic spigots moulded on the rear of the roundel itself. Remove one of the kidney grilles for access. The rear has two spigots that push into 2 nylon 'mushrooms' in holes in the boot lid. Use a plastic trim pry tool and a soft cloth. Not sure about the rear roundel on an E86 :thumbsup:
 
Hi spammy, if you are removing with a view to replacing, can I be first in line for your old bonnet badge please?

I'd pop a kidney grille out and see what fitting your car has before trying to pry the front badge off!

My previous E86 (2006 build) had the front badge attached exactly as Patriot66 described. I bought a new one about 3 years ago on Amazon for just over £40 - Part Number is 51147044207.

That's interesting, my old hood roundel disappeared at the track and this is the new one.
So you are saying #5 nut is holding it in and not just friction?

Yes, 2 x #5 nuts on the two longer spigots. They cut a thread into the plastic as you wind them on :thumbsup:
