It might help your sale if you go into more detail about the car and post some more photos

To me that reads "I can't afford to keep it so need to get shot".

Not the best start to getting good money IMO.

Jaysus. Loads of people in the same boat, get off his back...how does that post help his sale? 🤔

Good luck with the sale OP, highly desirable car around here and if you can give more detail on servicing, options etc sure it’ll go sharpish.

User ‘Z4allday’ has been after one a while, might be worth posting on his thread.

59 plate is interesting if it was imported 2018?

Best way to get a good response from your advert is as much detail on service history, previous work undertaken and plenty of decent exterior and interior pictures of the car 🙂 GLWS 👍

Nothing about this ad suggest a lack of ability to fund the car. I have had a number of cars that I buy for fun and don’t use as much as I would like (Caterham 7, Westfield, Lotus). In every case the cars probably haven’t done more than 1,000 / year but were always looked after with no expense spared. These cars were all sold reluctantly (I still miss them), but changes in life and work influence this e.g. fitting a children’s car seat, having a roof, headlights and wipers that work were all factors that impacted the practicality and usefulness of my fun cars. Because dry moderate days, free time and someone else minding the kids were so few and far between, it meant the cars were very rarely used (motorbikes and mountain biking also ate up what free time I had). I can also see changing work situations these days where there is so much more working from home where there is not the same requirement for cars. Even if someone does lose their job and can’t afford to keep a car, that doesn’t reflect how the car has been maintained.

This car looks great in the picture, if everything else stacks up it could be a great little toy for someone new. The 3.0si doesn’t seem to come up too often.

Good luck selling.

It’s 100k miles. I’ve had a look at similar cars on other sites and I think the price is more than fair.

If you pop in some more details about the service history, maintenance items that have been carried out and a few more pictures (interior, close ups of any blemishes etc.) it’ll really help your cause.

I bought a 2006 3.0si in Nov with 70k miles from a dealer for a little more than that (including 200mile delivery), as I was assured it was in excellent condition (full service history etc.). It turned out not to be as good as expecting, but I took the car anyway as I was more interested in having a good example like I now have, and getting it to my (high) standard over time. With hindsight I overpaid for the car, but given the lack of others and the fact I didn’t want to wait around I am comfortable with that.

I suspect some people’s initial reaction may be that the price is at the higher end, so it’s worth putting every evidence you can to show how good a car yours is.

This is spot on for me, and exactly why I joined the forum. Lots of talk in our business of 2-3 day home office routine, so my requirement changed. Thinking if I do use the car now, it needs to be a fun drive as my annual mileage has massively reduced.
Pricing from what I’ve been looking at is fair, and more details as always would help, and hope OP finds it a new home

Thanks for the advice/feedback all.
When the sun comes out I plan on taking some pictures and putting together a proper advert for it.

Out of curiosity I checked the valuation on webiyanycar and it’s come back with £6650. I suppose they’ll knock £5000 off when they spot a bit of dust on the dashboard..

Well WBAC is always the worst case scenario, god awful valuation so I’d consider that promising!

Looks to be an SE rather than a Sport - but still desirable. I haven’t seen a 3.0Si that didn’t start with a 6 for some time. The roadsters are a lot rarer than the coupes in 3.0Si form.

Edit: Full reg will let people check MOT history 👍

I would take it to WBAC and see what they actually offer when they see the car if its close to the advertised price and your happy with it, why not accept hassle free sale.

That's good. They valued my coupe at 6k with 10,000 miles less on it (SI) FSH etc.

Incidentally the same price a garage offered me in part ex.

Are you getting anything to replace it "fun car" wise? I floated the idea of just keeping it past the powers that be yesterday and it wasn't shot down.

There are plenty of sh*t box's out there that are being run into the ground and the good ones especially the SI's will for sure hold their value? If not go up?

Unless you really need the cash now is it worth waiting for the summer?

Surely too good to go through WBAC - i sold a car through them once and it was pain free but from chatting to the manager my understanding is they are part of british car auctions so cars need to be priced/bought by them to still make them a profit at auction. GLWTS

Because your car is an import on a 59 plate we buy any car believes it’s an e89 therefore the valuation is wrong.

It also recognises it as a coupe so it’s completely inaccurate due to the import status
