BMW Z4 2.5i SE, registered June 2004. Sterling grey with black leather, automatic climate control (blows cold air as it should), heated seats, electric folding mirrors, auto dimming rear view mirror, 18" ellipsoid alloys which have been subject to bare metal refurbishment this year (slight scuff to one wheel since). I bought the car in March 2015 from its third owner.
It is currently covered by a BMW Insured Warranty which is paid monthly at £50, also including BMW breakdown cover. This is obviously quite rare for a car of this age to still be eligible for the comprehensive warranty plan.
The following work has been carried out in my ownership:
* New hood motor fitted (original BMW part)
* New battery
* New starter motor
* Gearbox oil seal replaced
* Inspection II service and brake fluid changed at Sytner BMW Harold Wood
* Front suspension top mounts replaced
* 4 new Bridgestone Potenza (non run flat tyres) fitted which have covered less than 3,000 miles
* Horn replaced
* G3 Professional Resin Super Wax applied
* MOT till June 2016 (no advisories on current one)
The car is in great working order and the bodywork and hood are excellent for their age as you can see from the photos, I have enjoyed owning it but it is not getting the use and so needs a new home.

£5,750 ONO

Sounds great, but definitely needs a price tag put on it
Also mileage and some photos and a location would help :thumbsup:

Good point! Am I allowed to link to an advert on Pistonheads? If not please let me know and I will remove.

Thats fine, but the more detail you put in the advert, the more people see it without having to go offsite :wink:

No problem with the link, but please post the price you are seeking for a sale directly into your advert and ideally add your photos here too.

Price added now and pics will go on when I get home, thanks for the advice. Any comments on advert/other useful information please request.

Strong money for the car considering Age,2.5 litre and Spec especially at this time of the year. GLWTS though. :thumbsup:

Any idea of what would be a more appropriate price? I know it is higher than some but it is in excellent condition with any known niggles ironed out this year, as well as it being eligible for the BMW warranty for peace of mind.

It does need to sell though as I have another car on the way so would be open to some negotiation.

I think it's strong money given you wish to sell quickly and it's cold and wet now :(

You've got a few nice to have extras such as the wheels & warranty.

To help better suggest a price:
What's the current mileage? (EDIT - see it on PH at 58k)
Does it have any of the following Sat Nav, Xenon's sports seats, upgraded audio (I'm assuming not as you don't mention them)?

No it doesn't have any of those things. The mileage is 58,724 at the moment.

Thanks

OK - my considered opinion:

You want to sell quickly and it's a month to Christmas...
It has a few good things like the popular colour, type of wheel, low mileage, warranty and you've done a lot of work that people like (roof motor tyres, etc.)

It's missing many of the key extras that can all be argued to be pointless, or of no value, but they make examples sell as folks do want them (sports seats, xenons, upgraded audio and sat nav.).

Your photos on PH are rather poor and don't do the car any favours. Some nice one's need taking.

I think you should be going for £4,995 and be prepared to negotiate down from that to somewhere between £4k and £4.5

I would agree.
A 2.5 like this with that mileage would sell around £4,500-£4750 quite easily in Spring or Summer. However its now Winter, so take £500 off that. You also want a quick sale, so you'd have to negotiate too, therefore £4000 would be more realistic.
If it was a 3.0 you could expect to be looking at £5k+ as they come standard with other extras (like a 6th gear for instance !)

Thanks for the input from you both, I do want to price it realistically so will look at what it is advertised for. Do you have any experience of selling on ebay, tempted to stick it on a 10 day auction with reserve?

Not sold cars on eBay but in general I don't like reserves, preferring either straight sales or starting price. You just know where you are.

Downside of eBay does appear to many people that a win is just an opening price to negotiate down from and it's full of chancers, scammers and wasters, but of course also many sell successfully...

Putting myself in the shoes of a buyer, I would be worried that you had only had the car since March this year and had carried out a number of jobs which might have been associated more with a troublesome car . I think therefore that as stated the ad might ring alarm bells with genuine buyers.

The lads are right on this one, check out my car on this thread http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=81710
Sold two weeks ago for £4600, similar spec/mileage but with added clear lights package all around. I believe I had the added bonus of the new owner knowing I was a forum member, for the past five years and hence reassuring I was a genuine Z4 enthusiast. As others have stated market forces and the time of year is your enemy at present, good luck with the sale :thumbsup:

no reason for selling it apart from the fact I am now getting a new car and I don't have a garage to keep it in. To be honest,apart from the hood motor, none of the jobs "needed" to be done but I don't like niggly problems so had them fixed. Same with the inspection II service and tyres which were done ahead of schedule.
