BMW X4

I always like the look of them when I see them out on the road, like the X6 though they have lots of detractors but I like both models.

Im a big fan of these and had a good look round one recently at the dealership. Although i always end up thinking there are better cars for almost any function i would want it to fill.

I saw one this morning.. in black... doesnt look as hideous as the X6... but imo i would still go for an X5 if i had to pick one in the range....

X6 and X4 are hideous. Look like a nice coupe that's run into the back of a truck and then had a truck run into the back of it ! 3 and 5 GT are dodgy too...IMO.

Recently test drove a 30d X3, very impressive machine compared to my wifes 2008 X3. Not sure why you'd ever buy a X4 over one, look awful, much more expensive, reduced practicality and rear visibility must be a nightmare.

4 series in GT format i like , X4 i'm not convinced , its the 4GT raised & by doing that makes it look cumbersome as the X6 does
i'm with Aquazi , if that's the route go X5 although the latest model seem's to have been hit with the ugly stick

Do you mean the 4 series Gran Coupe? As both that and the 6GC are on my list also...

Sorry , was meaning the 3 GT , the 4 GC does look a nice machine though ,
Will the A7 be staying or going as part of the shake up ?

I think my dad has decided he wants to keep the A7 for now. He's doing a lot of trips down to Southampton and its a good car so theres no real need to change it..

Swinging towards the 4 GC right for now, but if the figures dont stack up I will be keeping the zed.

If you are thinking of the 4 GC you may as well just go for the 3 series saloon and save a few quid because bar a few minor details they almost look exactly the same.

I feel the same with the 6GC too and you may as well save loads of money and buy a 5 series instead because a Coupe in my eyes should be a two door only.

I tried an X4 last year , has some get up and go , mainly a 4 seater , watered down X6 but in a Q5 package , recommend a 3.0l d

If the waiting lists are anything like the F25 X3 don't expect delivery of a new one before next easter

That would probably be a good thing as the prices of new ones are quite steep. Would also keep me in the zed longer no doubt!

Havnt had a chance to reply to this thread but just in case anyone is interested or will be in the future... I went and test drove a 2 litre X4 M sport last Saturday.

Exterior Looks wise I think it looks great, sporty stance, unique look and awesome wheels (20" 310s).
Interior is a nice place to be, refined, everything where it should be, much updated from the Zed.
Ride is quite nice for a sports model, no crashing or bouncing, no roll or tramlining, all in all very impressed. Decent pickup from the 190bhp engine in what is a heavy car.
Negatives : Small rear windscreen (reversing camera is a must I feel), 5th passenger seat is so uncomfortable its almost pointless, I dont know what theyve done here but it seems illogical!

Overall I was very impressed and had concluded I'd like one, however there is one major snag - The price! Its dearer to buy a X4 2.0 M Sport Auto than a Range Rover Evoque Dynamic, even when you spec them up to match.

On top of that I have a 15% discount on a new Evoque which is a bit of a no brainer really (£36k). So now I have to decide if I go for a new RR Evoque Dynamic or wait a year a get an 18 month old X4 for around £32k..
