BMW Warranty Question

I've been offered the "official" BMW warranty from bmw-warranty.co.uk as my initial 1-year used car warranty is about to expire.

There are several options depending on what is covered & what excess I want.

I'm sure there are better 3rd party warranties available for my G29 but not sure where to start & was hoping others here have already done the research?
 
I always go for the bmw option. I don’t think there are better options. I think it’s priced well.
Also means they sort everything out with dealership direct.

How much are they asking for the warranty?
 
You can choose Drivetrain only, or plus electronics, or everything, take your choice excess too, a high excess means lower cost
I choose the full warranty with high excess, just over £500

I used motoreasy once and had a claim with them that went through, as ori stated, the downside is they don't use a dealer for repair work but it was relatively a painless experience, but had to organise my own transport once the car had been left at the garage.
 
I've got the Bmw warranty on my 4 series. Not had to use it, but cover was better than other options. Took the highest level of cover with a £250 excess. Surpising good value....for Bmw!
 
Warranties exist to make other people money, obvs of course, same as insurance, only difference being you don’t HAVE to have a warranty.

Purely my own thought is to stick the £500 a year in a bank account, if something happens it’s there, if not, you keep what you’ve put in, and with a car as a G29 with little to no known big issues you’re very very likely to be quids in not taking the warranty.
 
I always had the bmw warranty, comprehensive with no excess on my M240i and previously on my M3 which once needed a new gearbox! No hassle or arguments. Recommended.

That’s generally good advise, but when my e89 needed a new gearbox, that £500 a year wouldn’t have got me far. ;)
