BMW Show
Santa Pod Raceway
Sunday 10th July 2011
www.bmwshow.co.uk

Santa Pod Raceway’s annual BMW Show is back for its fifth year, but now in July instead of its usual September date. This now moves the BMW Show right into the middle of the show season and hopefully with better weather, more cars and an even better show! All BMWs are welcome - race cars, show cars, modern, retros, classics, new minis, BMW bikes and most importantly BMW CLUBS!

The clubs is what makes the show and as always free club stand space is offered in the paddock to display your clubs cars. To reserve your space please email Donna Finnegan at [email protected]. Plus, remember the club only ticket deal on offer; buy 10 and get one free or buy 20 and get two free and so on.

At this year’s show there is something for everyone including:

Track Competition on Santa Pod’s famous quarter mile
Stunt Shows by Terry Grant and BMW rider Mattie Griffin
Drag demos and 240mph Jet Car
Show and Shine Competition
BMW F1 Simulator
Handling Track
BMW Drift Shows
Saturday night entertainment

This is a great show where anyone can get involved and be part of the scene, plus tickets only cost £12 or £20 for the weekend in advance or £15 and £25 respectfully on the gate. It’s BARGIN so why not book your tickets now by calling 01234 782828 or visiting www.bmwshow.co.uk

Great show IMOP, should think about haveing a club stand, i whent last year and parked up with some frends from the Mini torque stand who didnt mind haveing a Z4 on display, there are loads of club stand but not one for the Z4 mark. so lets get in there boy's. :D

After last years I'd rather run myself over.

Was it not a good show?
I'm thinking of coming down from Scotland for it. I'd be up for a stand if we were to do one.

It was crap, worse than crap - awful cars, really awful displays - and scummy people too.

And the only Z4's, were in the car park or camped overnight..

We camped and it was a total chav-fest. There was all sorts going on all night and the people camping next to us had things stolen

There literally was people doing burnouts and doughnuts in a packed camping field at 2AM. As for the actual show it wasn't bad watching the 1/4 mile but the rest of it was a mix of tacky halfords spec customisations, nasty burger bars and overpriced trade stands. Add to that it was bloody arctic conditions which obviously didn't help.

Have to agree that although I've posted it as an FYI for members I was less than impressed by the whole event. Looked like a mixture of old fairground, tired cafes, pikey stands and all on a large uninspiring lump of tarmac.

There were a few decent cars on the strip, but agian not a proper drag session so mainly just stock/warmed up BMW's and the noisy jet car

As Playalistic says, I don't think the biting cold helped much.

If anyone wants to organise a get together then go ahead. I'm sure many will attend

I've been to this for the last 3 year and i do agree with most of the coments, you do not Camp at santa pod unless you have a deathwish, Being an x BMW mini owner, the club stands were a good place to get a load of like minded people together. Most would drive down on the Saturday and we would stay at a local hotel, then all meet up and go of to a nice meal in the everning. On the Sunday get to the pod early set up your club stand, with the mini's would try and pick some were away from the chav's. If you like a gazebo, set up a BBQ, out with the chairs and sit back and ejoy the day and spend time with like minded people, there was alway a lot of intrest from people who vististed the show who just wonted to look at the cars and ask questions, apart from that if you are intrested in running your car up the strip then you could. you chould spend all day on your own club stand and have a wonderful day, well i say wonderful, that would be if the sun desides to shine that day or not.
what i'm trying to say is if we can get a good number of club memebers and there cars to gether it makes a good day out,

Last year was a bit crap to be honest.. I was expecting more!!

I would be interested in attending if there was a stand and a load of people off here

Likewise, I think I would go again if we could get a stand together with Z4's on it, and make our own day of it.....

I agree, We need to get a list of names for those are intrested in going and i would think if we could get 10+ cars and if the intrest is there then we can see if we can get a club stand

Maxum

That has to be right about having a stand, surrounding yourself with Zeds, BBQ, and like minded and then venture out only when you feel the need. Can make a great day.

I've done the same with a Jeep stand in the middle of the National Landrover show and circled round the wagons for protection :)

It's a done deal.....use this thread to get sign up...I'll add my name first, even though I'll be back from Dubai on the 9th, I'm up for it
