Could not have had a more positive experience using my local Indy - TWG Automotive in Camberley. They look after both the Z and my 645Ci.
 
For my 3.0 se..local indie.every time.a more personal service and no bullsh*t .

I'm considering going to an Indy next. Someone I know with an ///M uses one fairly near me and highly recommends him.
 
Indy the way forward.

I've never bought a car and been worried about dealer service history.

I just dont want to see stamps in the service book from "Bob 'n Dave's garage" thats all.
 
As i tend to buy at 4/6 yrs old & 60/80k a BMW stamp starts to mean less & less .
fortunately i have a great indy 10mins from me :) he does both our BMW's & as a ex-BMW master tech i have ultimate faith in his work :thumbsup:
 
Recently completed Inspection 1 at the dealer, but the car is out of warranty now, so I'm considering switching to one of the local indies. I recently joined a couple of local BMW clubs and want to collect some member recommendations before I take the leap.
 
Got FBMWSH at the moment, just bought it, but will go indy next time. Next service is inspection 1. I think at 6yrs old now, anybody buying one of these knows what they are buying so aren't going to be put off by the fact its not all dealer. So long as stamped and lots of receipts etc
 
I got my local stealer to carry out an oil service and brake fluid change the other week as it saved me taking the day of work although costing £50 more.

However they managed to piss me off by cocking 4 things up which confirms what we already know and that is main dealers are not any better than Indi's and quite often worse.

I will be looking at an Indi for my Inspection 2 although that may not be for 4 years, but as the nearest is 50 miles away and not a easy train journey that presents other issues as the engine needs to be stone cold.
 
i started using an indy as soon as the warranty expired and up to now have always been happy with the service :thumbsup:
 
Only just got mine. First 2 were BMW, most recent was supplying indy dealer but looking at the main dealer discount website, i "MAY" use main dealer for the next one.
 
I’m also very happy with my local dealers - you build up a rapport with them, tell them when they do bad and in the end you build mutual respect and they know what you like/don’t like.

On the ///M the price for example an oil change and brake fluid change were the same as my 3.0si - so no quibbles there and these are not far off indy prices. Plus as per Steve, they drop me off back to work so very convenient.
 
I don't need a service for over a year but did check out prices before I bought the car and the difference between the local dealer and the two Indys is marginal to make me keep up the full BMW history - plus they have a good rep. The nearest indy is staffed by ex techs from the local dealer so seems a good setup. There is also another BMW indy which is mentioned on here a few more miles up the road.
