Bmw servicing how much?

Gonna be booking in the z4 (2008 2.5 si) for a service with Bmw. Bit confused on what the next service is therefore I’ll get an inspection 2 carried out.

What price should I be expecting?

It doesn’t have full Bmw sh so should I just goto a bm specialist instead?

The simple answer is yes. Certainly at the age your vehicle is and especially as its not got a full dealer history to start with. A good indie should suffice. You don't necessarily need a BMW specialist but it certainly won't do any harm, it will maybe just cost a little more. Unlike going to the dealer where your wallet will be raped and in most cases the level of Tlc your car will receive won't be anywhere near as high.

Stick the car details into the BMW website and it should give you costs.

Then find out where your local Indy BMW garage is and get a price from them.

Or shop around for parts and do it yourself.

Wow so prices seem to have gone a bit mad at Bmw.

Used to have an e46 m3 years ago and it wasn’t this much with bmw!

They want £618 for an inspection 2

I thought they did value servicing for cars over 3 years old?! That service alone is 10% of the cars value!!!

I'd be looking for a local BMW Independent, especially as you don't have full BMW history anyway!

My local one is ex-Sytner, but his labour rate is about half of Sytner's!

If you give an indication of where you are someone may be able to recommend a place for you.

I’ve used Bmw specialists before with the m3 but I genuinely found the main dealer around the same price and a better service but pricing seems to have changed!

I’m in Glasgow

I’ve just had my M roadster inspection 2 carried out by Munich power in Redhill,. Brilliant service and a the guy is a genuine M enthusiast, can’t recommend him enough.

My 3.0 2004 E85 recently went in for service and MOT. The service included brake fluid, pollen filter, air filter, spark plugs, engine oil & filter, and screen wash. I was quoted £467 (including MOT) from a good independent. While there they gave me a report on other items and it picked up things like "slight leak from sump gasket". They then quoted for the items they found in their inspection.

Edit: including VAT

There's plenty in Glasgow.

There's a cracking place in Clydebank I've have on recommendation from a mechanic friend.

Whereabouts in Glasgow are you?

Clydebank is easy enough to get to for me. I’ll definitely give them a call this week. Thanks

Have you used them yourself?

I've not. I moved to Edinburgh a few years back but a friend of mine who owns a garage in Springburn recommended them. I trust what he says.

I lived in Bearsden for 25 years before dotting around the country
