BMW Service and Electrical Manuals for your Use

Shipkiller

Veteran
I bought the BMW Service and Electrical manuals on Ebay. :ebay:
I have converted the CD's to ISO files and I am offering these for use by registered members of this forum. :ilz4f:

I run a FTP site.

I have created an account for users, and this account will lock you into the Automobile Technical Directory.

If you want access, send me a PM or email me.

I will NOT give it out on the board for all of the search spiders to find...

You MUST use FTP software to login in. Using your browser will NOT work.

Here is a link to a free FTP software page. It is by no means the only ones out there. Use whatever you are use to or like.
http://filezilla-project.org/

For you TechNo Geeks, like me, my upload bandwidth is only 275K/sec. so it will take 10 minutes or so to dnload each CD. :paper:

Dang Ship, you're awesome! :friends: . Seeing how I'm not a techy-geek, if I need something will you do all the search work for me?

Shipkiller,

I don't mean to contradict you but I've tried entering the FTP address into both Firefox and IE and can gain access (using your username and password) to download the files...I don't believe you need to install a dedicated FTP client... :P

do they include instructions on how to remove all the interior pieces?

I have the same question.

OK...this could take some time - I've downloaded/burned CD1...I was expecting PDF files or something similar - in fact it's in the form of a database program...just need to workout what to install... :idunno:

I need instructions on how to remove the radio and the vents above the radio, for an aux input install.

If you happen to come across it, could you share it?

Thanks!

Shipkiller, Very nice....
thanks a bunch

waiting to see how you make out Lotus1

Right - got it installed and running - not exactly obvious how to do this!

As for guidance on how to dismantle/assemble things...no luck I'm afraid - it has exploded views showing all components but no instructions :( ... very useful piece of software though :)

Incidentally, it only appears to cover Z4 models up to the end of 2003...

Yes you do. My systems is set up for pasv FTP. IE and Firefox do not allow this.
Pasv FTP is way more secure for ME on this end.

Running a FTP server for the last six years with NO breakins... so far...

I just read you post again.

Maybe IE and Firefox fixed there little issue with this.
They USED to not be able to do this with my setup.

BUT. A dedicated FTP client is way FASTER. But if it works for you. Go for it...

Sorry everyone that it has taken me so long to respond to all the requests. I was out putting up Xmis lights and just got finished. :hairdryer:

Right now I am looking at five users logged on and dnloading. With that may users, dnload times will be a little slow. Sorry....

These are the same manuals that BMW uses. I had to help the guy at BMW find the part for the Softtop switch yesterday. Same stuff....

Also, in each directory, is a txt file showing you how to install the software.

There ARE instructions to remove and replace everything, but it is not easy to get there. The Techs at BMW HATE this software....

Take anything you want. I have two F150 manuals and other stuff...

The electical diagram CD is a separate CD and does not install into the database.

TIS is the service and repair CD's and ETK are the parts breakdowns....

Z4 only goes to 2004. I will try to look for an up to date CD for the Z4.

I SHOULD have posted this info BEFORE everyone got started.

Shipkiller,

Have I downloaded the wrong files then? Using Firefox, I downloaded ETK CD1.iso and ETK CD2.iso
