Anybody contact BMW about the recall and warranty extension on the 2004-05 Z4s? What did they say to do? :?

I did call and was told that paper work would be sent in late September.

When it doesn't happen , I'll need to call again and get the newest story. :(

Z4s are not under the affected vehicle list, so not much to worry about. As it stands, they are offering a 10 year, unlimited mile warranty on the passenger seat sensor to Z4 owners instead. Don't expect an extended 'overall' warranty.

I am sorry but they are on the list here it is:

BMW is extending the warranty to 10 years from first registration without any mileage limit to the following vehicles: model year 2006 6-series, 3-series (standard seat), model year 2004-2005 Z4, model year 2004-2006 7-series, model year 2006 X5, and model year 2004-2006 5-series (comfort seat). Under the extended warranty program, the occupant detection mat in a vehicle that experiences this specific issue will be replaced at no charge to the customer. :?

But having said that others have checked and have told me that there is no recall, but that just the warranty on the mat has been extended for up to 10 years for those who are having issues with it. How do you know if you are having issues with it? Are there codes or anything that guys are having? I think mine is fine, but seems funny that if there are known problems that BMW would not do a recall and fix it under warranty no matter if it is extended or not. Seem odd that as my passenger goes flying through the air because the bag did not go off that I could say Geee that is covered under the warranty. :P

I am going to wait until the end of September as others have said and see what happens. I will report back as soon as I get it and let you all know just in case it will help someone else, but thanks for your input it was appreciated. :)
