Our warranty expires this summer and we'll be looking at getting the BMW extended warranty in place.

Can anyone answer with regards to BMW online portal

1-Does it need renewal
2-If so how much is it for how long
3-Is it included in the warranty extension

1-Yes
2-About £100 a year but that may have changed now... they'll get in touch with you. Or use BMW Assist to call them and ask.

100 quid a year, not sure its particularly good value given the use it gets.
 
Well its not just BMW online... its BMW assist, the whole telephone assistance, online etc system. The only additional extra is recovery on the warranty side. So its whatever level of warranty + optional recovery + BMW assist (online etc). GIve them a call, they'll outline it all to you.

250 euro a year sounds a lot!

Also with a new car you get map updates for free for 3 years, what happens after that? Do you still get them included if you pay to keep the assist and online going?

It's what dealer told me.... Maybe i should get it in writing!

I would... map data is on the HD, so you'd need to take it to them to be reloaded... that's not a free service (usually).
 
Yeah, I was under the impression that you had to pay for map updates. If they are free, they've kept that quiet!!!

Get it in writing and scan it on here so we can all hammer the dealers in the face with it!!!!
