BMW M3 E92 219 BBS Alloys

Hello everyone, apologies if this is in the wrong section or a repeated topic. I have done a wee bit of homework online but haven't found anything definitive.

I have a set of E92 M3 alloys (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=WD92-EUR-09-2007-E92-BMW-M3&diagId=36_1150) which I would like to fit to my Z4MR... I was wondering if anyone has done this before and could please advise on any issues etc before I go ahead. I also need to sort out spacers, which I haven't bought before on any of my cars - can anyone recommend where to go?

As a general update - loving the Z4MR and generally getting used to it. It was a pleasure to purchase from gwatson on the forum. Planned mods/repairs are hopefully these wheels, replacing a small missing cap inside, respray of the bonnet and bumper and fitting an intravee unit in the next couple of weeks. Photos will follow and I will work on being more involved... work, flat selling, oil price crashing... marathon training...

They'l go on as Beedub has them on his Mroady but doubt you will need spacers :o the fronts will sit 17mm from the oem 224s & rears 13mm so its the drop that will be one to watch & maybe play with tyre sizes if it is lowered to avoid the dreaded arch liner rash :cry:
 
Gah I love those alloys. So nearly bought a set the other day, but was worried they wouldn't fit at all on my non-M coupe.

Slight thread hijack, but does anyone know if they would work on a non-m...?

Not without looking like a clown car :oops: rear 9.5 with et 23 is like adding a 35/40 mm spacer to 108s :o
There are some quite similar in rep form as a member on here has a set

:lol: Dammit! Nevermind then - I love how they look - I think with a higher et they'd not look as nice. Oh well, another reason to get an M coupe then :roll:
 
PM Beedub - from what he's posted, he has to run 'very aggressive camber' for them to fit with no rubbing issues, certainly on the front. He'll sort you out :thumbsup:
 
as per the email they Fit on the car physically...

but if you intend the drive the car properly your going to need to make some changes to the setup, namely some neg camber up front, an owner on here recently sent me a pic of what his 260m/219m did to the car after a track day after not making some of the changes needed and the damage was painful to see.

However if its a DD and your not going to push it id guess you could just put them on and it'll be fine ( don't take my word on that I've never tried ), the fronts are where the problem lies, the rear is about the limit of where id want to do, anything sub ET30 on an 8.5" rim upwards is kinda pushing it tbh.

it works for me as i run a track biased suspension and geo setup.

if you've ever seen a GT3 RS arch full of wheel and tyre type of look with zero space... they give that look, very cool.

sorry for the late reply...

i use a track based coilover and camber plate setup, I'm also running semi slick tyres in 235/40 265/35....

as said before i run at around -2.7 neg camber which with the spirited nature of my drive has led to a totally even tread wear, if you DD on this they would murder your tyres as you can imagine.

Intravee to fit too... Why is it never easy!

I've got 219s on my coupe. They fit fine on the front with a 235/40 tyre (not a track tyre, as they're a much wider fit and have squarer shoulders).

Thanks for that post Mr.Wilks. Is there no rubbing etc with a straight swap, even under "enthusiastic" driving? Just concerned about damage whilst being enthusiastic! Some photos would be great.
