BMW Loudspeaker System... Business

Wonder if any of you guys can shed some light on this.

My new car that im due to pick up on saturday says it has BMW Loudpeaker System.. Business. What does this mean and is it any good?

I have standard BMW Business setup in my current Z and think its pretty poo to be honest. Do you think I will notice a difference? :?

Do you get additional speakers to standard setup.. ie in the door cards where standard is just blank or in the cubby holes behind the seats?

Dealer tells me they are upgraded speakers and amp?

There must be something different as it was a £500 option?

I have the business. Its alright. Defo better than the standard. :thumbsup:

It has 2 subs and more speakers. Although no amp, so the bass is limited. (so I'm led to believe)

Its okay for roof up, but roof down you'll hear more air than tunes :)
 
There were 3 options:
1) standard- total crap
2) hifi/business - Subs and speaker system, no dsp. Warmer
3) logic 7 - as above plus dsp. Good.

I think that's it. I've got the 2nd as I couldn't find any logic 7 examples and to be honest it has never blown me away but then I used to drive an Audi with Bose. I think each option is a bit compromised compared to the audi system but the short answer is that this is an upgraded option and it does come with subs and the additional speaker set up! Will do the job if you get bored of the engine noise.
 
Just seen tired's comment, funny thing is I find the bass overwhelms the other speakers so have dialed down on my setup. Probably a musical preference thing!
 
I'm a bit baffled with the various systems as well. Can someone explain the difference between the Standard, Business and Professional setup on the E89 models. I think that I have the Professional with no cubby's behind the seats. Got to say that like so many others I'm not blown away with it.

Tired.. Its a coupe, so theres no need to worry about air interference :wink:

Tjlazer.. I too have had Audi's with the Bose and thought those systems were pretty good and compared to the HK in a friend M3 and the Logic7 in my other friends Z4M, the Bose was much better, crystal clear with no distortion whatsoever..

Glad its some form of upgrade at least and will be an improvement on my current setup, which IMHO is terrible for this sort of car..

Must be getting old mate :P

Yeah the Business isnt a patch on Audis Bose, but its okay. You'll be happy with it compared to the standard anyway, especially with a coupe!

Heavy bass and radio 4 have never been good bedfellows!
 
You can always get yourself down to a decent ice retailer and add the bits your system is lacking. Better speakers and an amp if you want volume. Done that to mine and am pleased with the results.
