Hopefully they are closing the factory in the US and then we will have only German made BMW's here![]()

... As BMW is enhancing its car production in the US, it is unlikely that US will be witnessing such a layoff.
I don't think so enfield and I quote from the article...enfield said:Hopefully they are closing the factory in the US and then we will have only German made BMW's here![]()

I recall reading somewhere not that long ago either an article or a post here about BMW pushing suppliers to lower prices and perhaps product quality... :x I guess employee reduction was also in their play book as well.

Renault, Peugoet and Citreon were here in the 60's and 70's but never sold well and in the area where I live (SE PA) those dealership went away by the early 80's. I do remember seeing some Renaults in the 90's but there were no dealers near where I live. I could be wrong but I was thinking one of the reasons that Peugoet and Citreon went away was because those cars did not meet certain US safety standards.rabman5 said:In fact we have. Renault & Peugoet were here in the 80's and early 90's. Peugoet were brought in by Chrysler before Daimler "partnered" with them. Renault quickly became known for some cheap POS cars, even at ridiculously low prices.
They already retreated! :lol:RustyZ4 said:You Americans look on the bright side you havent had the invasion of the french cars yet,,, Renault. Peugoet, Citreon etc,
