I would be interested in one of the keys above. Can my car be down 2007 E85 - where can I checked to see if it can be other than dropping in to see you?

Depends where in East London - It would roughly be 60 minute drive for me so doable.

You will need to check what EWS version you have mate.

I have done late 2005 Z4,s, but there is a good chance bmw installed version 4.3 in the 2006 models.

Can you tell us how we check what EWS version we have?

Drop the trim panel above the drivers peddles and the module is bolted to the inside of the wing.

You dont need to completely remove the panel, just pull down the corner so you can see the module.

The version number is written on the outside

It could be done, but you would need the complete HEX dump of your module. But if you had that, then i would be able to do a key anyway, so it defeats the purpose.

There is another option for everyone that has the later EWS 4.3

If you have a plastic wallet key or service key, you could remove the transponder and put it inside my flip key.
I could get the blade cut my end from a photo, then all you would need to do is sync the remote.

I believe service/wallet keys cost about £30-40 from bmw.

If you wanted to go down this route, then i would be happy to sell the flip key for £60. This would also save the time and fuel travelling to me.

It's only doable by me if I can combine it with a trip to friends in Essex.

OK gents, just managed to retrieve my key back from Ben (bmkeys) via my mum.

Instructions worked first time to initialise the new key with the car - ie by default it will open the car door but the alarm will go off without syncing.

For £30 you will get a newly milled key, new casing & new battery plus your old key without any innards, so can be used in an emergency to open boot & doors but obviously will set the alarm off & won't start the car.

Must admit can't be happier with the service - fast turnaround, excellent comms, as described on the tin!!! 5 star service, Jembo
