BMW Key Coder on eBay??

Hi,

I remember a while back someone posting about a guy on ebay who can code keys for when you lose them and/or want to change to the flip style ones.
I can't find the thread and I can't find the guy on ebay. :(

Interesting! I could do with another key as I only have 1. Does look a bit dodgy with only a mobile number and no address but he does have over 4000 positive feedback.

slight sideways comment...

Are we able to use the "flip" style key with our cars?
The only bit I don't like about our cars is the dated key design.. :/

I'm the one that first posted about him and he is totally trustworthy.

I gor the Bentley style flip key from him all coded with a new transponder in it (no need to butcher your old key) and it works great.

Some people have posted that using Gaptech with original key, you still have to be quite close to the car but I have no issues activating the roof from at least 30 feet away with the flip key!

Guys I just spoke to Ben who I know very well at BM keys and mentioned that a few ppl are not to sure about the service as they haven't used him before and yes it is dodgy asking random ppl to cut keys for you and he asked me to post the following link...

I just had a chat with him - he sounds totally legit.
He can do it with you next to him if you bring the car to him - takes fifteen mins.

reckon I'll be heading down as soon as the car's legal - £70 for a flip key sounds perfect!

I think things have come on a long way since the early days when in essence the transponder could not match to the car so that was it as far as buying old keys, coding, etc. Only option was getting a new stealer key.

Seems this guy also programmes the car's module, so gets a matched set that way. Also explains why it's not a postal process unless you park up the car for a few days and mail him the module.

Certainly worth considering rather than paying the £150 is for a dealer key.

Not that it would ever happen but in line with comments does make me smile about how a claim for car theft woudl go when you explained you'd posted your key and car's module to someone, then the car vanished :)

Hi guys.

Billy brought this thread to my attention, so I felt the need to sign up and answer any questions or doubts you may have.

I specialise in repairing and replacement keys.

I can supply, cut and code new keys while you wait, or it can be done via post.
I also repair non working keys.

I can provide links to various forums with positive feedback and if you look through my eBay feedback, I have 100% positive feedback from all my buyers.

Any questions, fire away.

Thanks

I dont actually code the module, i take a hex dump of the eeprom chip, thus giving me the rolling codes for the 10 pre coded keys.
I then code a blank chip to suit.

As for cars going missing, how long could I expect to last without the old bill knocking on my door and me ending up behind bars?

I am a BMW enthusiast myself and ended up providing this service because I needed a spare key myself and couldn't find anyone that could do it.

Hi BMkeys. Great to have an explanation and thanks.

Of course the car vanishing was pure humour. One of the things that makes this forum such an active community :)

My daughter has just purchased a 1 series with 1 key so may well need to avail ourselves of the service.
