BMW iPOD Interface

Evening chaps and chapesses,

I've ordered the genuine iPOD interface off ebay from bmw-minipartsrus and the seller states '...we do supply a full fitting guide but this would need to be coded by a BMW dealership...' - does anyone know what he means by '...this would need to be coded by a BMW dealership...' ?

How do

Some modifications to the car need to be "activated" by the dealer before they can work.
You can usually get these done at some indys though for much less (search on here for "£25 auto" for a great chap).


However, assuming you're not on about the new shape zed, I can assure you that this doesn't need coding and that installation (bar removing the stupid vents) is very painless.
