Bought the kit from a BMW dealer a couple of months ago and never got around to getting it fitted until now.

The BMW dealer wanted £200 + VAT to fit it and insisted that it needed 'coding' into my car.

Took it to Hannah Autosound in Glasgow and they fitted it for £55 + VAT - no 'coding' required - works perfectly through the radio and steering wheel controls.

My car is an 07 and from what I can gather cars from 07 onwards require no coding for this equipment.

Hope that helps anyone who is thinking about getting this piece of kit :)

Hi Billy,

Can I ask how much it was to buy from the dealers and does it work with 3g iphone as well.

Thanks

It cost £127 from the dealer iirc.

The manual says it's compatible with iPod (G3, G4), iPod Photo, iPod Mini and iPod Nano. No mention of the iPhone. The manual has a 2006 date on it so I guess that was just before the original iPhone came out.

I have an iPhone 3G too so I'll stick it in and see if it recognises it but I suspect the answer will be no. I'm just using an iPod Nano in it and it works fine with that.

Dont think you will find the year makes any difference with regard to coding, I assume like the Dension IceLink Plus that this unit also disables the CD changer if you have one.

You might be right - but i'd been told otherwise by a friend who works at a bmw dealer.

Yeah it does disable the CD Changer if you have one - and the 8 Track and the VHS :D

Thats what I thought, I believe it's very similar to the Dension I have.
