BMW Insured Warranty, Is it worth it?

I've been offered BMW Insured Warranty now my extdended warranty is about to run out. It seems a bit steep for the cover it gives you:

Comprehensive - £427
DriveLine + 1 Named Component £380
DriveLine £322

if I wanted Warranty would I be beter looking somewhere else? Or is it really worth it with a well looked after Z?
 
That's better than what I was quoted - mine was more like £600 :o

I took the risk and didn't bother. only had one spring break since so still up :D
 
You can get a good warranty that covers just about everything up to £1000, and they will be ok with you using good BMW independents to do the work, for maybe £300 a year.

You are paying a premium just so BMW can do the work for you at their inflated labour rates ultimately.

Depends what you want, but if it's beyond the extended warranty it's probably fairly old now and not using BMW vs a good independent probably won't hurt resale for any jobs outside of normal service/inspections etc...


But those prices don't seem THAT bad. £427 is pretty reasonable all said and done if BMW offer the same service/quality/no quibbles as they would on an AUC warranty/extended warranty thingy.

Warranty Direct also allows BMW dealers to work on warranty items. I extended the warranty for the X5 with them. You have to negotiate the price though as they will get down by at least 30% of their original offering.

Think it was just over £300 for the X5 for another year.

I think it is cheap. I paid £72 a month for my previous 523i Sport (E60), comprehensive with no excess, but no breakdown cover. Warranty Direct is not that cheap, and you have to get the work approved first and pay upfront.
