BMW Insured Warranty Important Change

I have received the following email regarding BMW Insured Warranty

Dear Mr Farmer,

Thank you for your telephone call.

I can confirm that further to our telephone conversation that servicing can now be done outside of BMW as long as this is at a VAT registered garage using genuine BMW parts and the correct grade of oils.

Can you also or are you expected to get your warranty repairs carried out at the same VAT registered independent garage?

If so, I know where mine will be going.
 
Personally I'll stick with my dealer in Manchester for warranty repairs (FOC ones) as they've been fairly good. Servicing however, i.e. cost to me, will not go there as they're very expensive and there's a local BMW indy that can cut at least 1/3 off their prices while still using OEM parts/oils.

Know when I asked I was told repairs had to be done by the BMW dealers not indys

Do you know from your conversation whether that applies to cars currently covered by the Insured Warranty, or only from renewal of the warranty? As mentioned in another thread, my 3 Insured Warranties all currently state that the car must be serviced by a BMW dealer as a condition of that warranty, and that servicing it outside the BMW network would invalidate the warranty.
