BMW i8 at iPark lane

Wow - does look very nice (and, of course, an expert snapper helps to get fantastic pics :D ) :thumbsup:
But 100 - 150k? Are they really going for the supercar market with this? Bit ambitious....

Ye well it only does 40 miles on a full charge. But 100mpg combined with the twin electric motors and 1.5 twin turbo engine 0-60 in 4.8. Interesting concept 2+2 concept.
 
Ye just 40 miles just on electric... but combined 100mpg with M3 performance. Not a bad trade off.

The problem is battery technology its still in the dark ages, dont last long, very heavy, cost a fortune to replace and also not very environmentally friendly. If they could find a new way to store the energy then these electric cars might be a real alternative to combustion. But for the time being... nope.

This is nice (and good pics Tom) but i'd rather they built a proper supercar. Something to rival an R8 or maybe even an SLS. If I had 150k to splurge on a car it would NOT be spent on this.

Couldn't agree more, BMW dont make an all out performance car anymore. Something to rival the R8 would be awesome, although I do like these all the same but not for that price tag!

Porsche got it right with theirs although thats another 200k on top haha!
 
Amazing! I'm curious about the BMW concept car build quality. At such close quarters, did you smell any glue or see any rough handiwork, or was it just production-line perfect?
