BMW Head unit swap?

Wondering if it's possible to change the BMW indash CD/radio to something better.

I'm thinking it might be a way to have sat nav by changing the standard BMW unit to a 7 inch screen with sat nav?

It isn't you need one of these... (have you found a Z4MC without nav then?)
