bmw e85 passenger airbag switch off

hello there guys and girls , iam recently on the lookout for an e85 z4 , i have a 6 mth old child , is there a way to deactivate the passenger airbag or accessory so if needed i can take my child in the car , thanks

You need this which sold a while back. Be warned though it’s like hens teeth, you’re better off searching for a car with it fitted. Clue is two buttons at front of centre console one is sport switch other is passenger airbag off indicator.

OK link does not work :oops: search in for sale area about 4 pages back or so.
 
Or just make the kit yourself, but retrofitting means drilling the dash, and centre console which many are unwilling to do. The parts arent z4 only from what i remember.

There’s a retrofit guide out there...

I drilled the center console before getting it repainted piano black as I’d already got a spare one.... I ordered parts from BMW - I just needed the light for the center console and the switch as my car was pre-wires

I’ve not gotten around to mounting the actual switch as I’ve not drilled the dashboard yet...

With everything fitted, it needs coding to the car

Mine isn’t quite done yet as I’ve had to do some work on my girlfriends Mini Cooper instead of finishing up my car
