BMW E39 530d Manual Facelift. 2001

Hi all
Now I've had my Zed for a week, it's time to part with my faithful motorway killer.

I've a 2001 year BMW E39 530d. It's a rare manual version with 5 spd. As its a facelift it has clear lenses and angel eyes. I've upgraded these to nice white. Also upgraded are the headlights to full 6000k HIDs. It also had the upgraded Vortec crankcase breather done the 1st week I had it.

It's an SE Spec so comfort black leather seats. No rips or tears. The car has just ticked over 100k miles which is quite low on a 2001 car and very low for this 6cyl diesel motor. Better still it passed MOT 2 weeks ago and was taxed for 6 months too. I may remove this though, depends. It's in a pale metallic blue.

Condition
The car is In good order but of course is not new. There are two small areas if paint required where some lacquer has come away. About size of top of a coffee cup. Not rust. Lacquer off. It also developed the usual Hegehog issue on these. It's the final stage resistor that mean the heater sometimes stays on after key out. Happened 2 times in last two weeks of driving. It's an easy fix and the part is under £50. Have a google. It's common

It has style 32 7 series deep dish wheels. Can do with two rear tyres and here's why.... This car has been professionally ReMapped by Evolve. I have dyno plots at standard of 202bhp and 317nm torque. Then remap plot of the now producing a whopping 242bhp and 478nm torque. Thing thing flies.

It will do over 45mpg on a careful foot. With spirited driving it won't go below 40mpg. Very very economical and very fast.

Due to the few small jobs I'm asking £3395.

There are lots of 525's and some 530's out there but try and find a proper manual. Some will say manual then look at gear stick. It will prob be auto! Happy to email pickies just pm me or mail [email protected] and answer any questions. Car is located near St Ives Cambridge and it ready to drive

Thanks for reading.

I have no idea what this means! I'm too old for all this hip-speak!!

Re pics... Popped it in via iPhone so couldn't do pics. Sorry. Have some a can email

I've also just seen the add might be in the wrong place!! I'm a muppet

For the £45 it costs to change the hedgehog, why not do it as it will drain the battery completely dead (like on the early E53 X5s that had the same problem).

A new battery will cost more ...

Good luck with the sale

Re the Hegehog yes, I may well have a crack. Can't believe it started doing it the week I was getting new car!! I've simply disconnected the battery to solve prob short term. I'm in the E39 5 series forum so may well have a read up on doing it

With Hegehog n tyres its 3500 quid plus car so that's why I've placed it at Lowe price

Decided to sell my GS Adventure too so depends on which I clean n prep 1st.

Nothing wrong with the price, just that it is more difficult to sell a car with a problem and with the hedgehog gone, it will kill the battery within a day.

I hope you are good at laying underneath the dash as that is where the hedgehog is plugged in ...

I prob will book it in. Or the 5 forum is very very good for help n info
Be sad to see it go, it's been an amazing car. 2 and a half years of pleasure. Even drive it 26 hours straight from Rome to Cambs !
