BMW DIS - Cable Connection & Programming Scotland

I've been wanting to re-programme some of my factory defaults for example "lock after drive off" to active as it is currently set to the factory default of not active. I have a full list of what I want changed (five items) and I've been reading up on here about where to get the cable and the £20 offer to make...

I've also read up on the software installation and configuration but the problem being I no longer have a laptop and the netbook I do have will be a complete pain in the ass to configure and use for this task. I was wondering if there was anyone in the Glasgow or Central Scotland area with a cable and a working setup on their laptop that may be willing to help me out? I'd be happy to travel to you and provide some form of payment in beer or otherwise...

I guess that means A) nobody in Scotland has the capability or B) nobody wants to help!? I guess plan B for me is to find a mate with a laptop I can borrow. I see Windows XP is the easier option, are MacBooks a no go?

Hi,

I have recently purchased the same software and
lead from BM technic.
After loading all the one click program's I tried to
connect to the obd port but it wouldn't connect.
I contacted Chris @ bm technic and it turned out
to be an issue with drivers.
I would contact Chris as that will be the quickest
way of sorting it out.
The software is spot on and is quite easy to use once
your connected.
I've managed to sort/change several things including
clearing my airbag light

Maybe giving Chris a shout is the way forward...
