Hi im still on lookout for a z4 coupe went to a main dealer in warrington on sunday he had none in but had a new shape e89 sdrive with metal folding roof in 2009 one owner 13k on the clock with price of £18750, i offered him 17k for it just thought i would try my luck he laughed and said no way as it had already been reduced from £20k and it was cheapest on bmw web sites,

I left him my number and asked him to give me a ring if he changed his mind, he rang me monday morning and said he could do it for £17750 thats knocking a grand off , i said i did not have it and only had £17k he said that was the best he could do so we left it , He rang me once again this morning saying i could have it for £17k im now very tempted ok its basic model but £17k for a new shape e89 2009 13k on clock 12 months bmw warranty is tempting some of the old shapes are more than that , just goes to show if you stick to your guns bmw will dodeals , heres the link for the car its immaculate .

vinny,

that one is an E89, with not much optional extras, especially heated seats which is a must for a roadster, no front or rear pdc. If you are happy to travel, there are some nice cars out there. I'd say don't settle for something you might not be happy after a while with, search a bit longer.

That's a decent price for one that's only a couple of years old.

You might regret not buying one with more extras in the long term. All depends how long you intend to keep the car, and how important the extras are.

I bought mine with plenty of extras, and I'm still planning a few mods...

You choose sir, you choose

yes sorry its e89 i have edited it , i would prefer the bigger wheels but im just pointing out that if you haggle properly deals can be done with BMW

Wheels are easy to sort, but heated seats and pdc are not, these are two options every Z4 should have, esp heated seats

im not bothered about the heated seats as price is reflective i priced some niice big 18 inch bmw wheels and tyres up and the were £2500 so that is a big problem

There's wheels going on here all the time, and tyres from a site like mytyres.co.uk are reasonably priced. I'd try and find some good reconditioned ones, or buy some that need done and look on here for recommended places. Surely you shouldn't pay more than £1,200 max (and probably a lot less) for rims and rubber ?

As for heated seats, depends how you use it, but on a cold day with the roof down you'd get really chilly really quickly I reckon...

the next buyer will be, and then it becomes more difficult to sell.

Pish! there's nothing like a warm butt on a cold morning when you plant it on leather and have a roof that doesn't look like a tent.

i think thats a great deal! i too would miss the heated seats, but for the money that seems like a bargain! :D  i really like the E89

The heated seats shouldn't be a deal breaker at that price. It has everything else! Just these oldies that need there bottoms warming for them ;)

For less than £17k you could get a Z4M roadster... that would be my choice

I have to say, at the current price points, I'd still be looking at the older model. For that sort of money you could get a fantastic Z4M Coupe - a future classic.

In my opinion, these early models will date BADLY. Compare any BMW SE model to a Sport or M-Sport model; especially on older models. SEs look rubbish, and Sports look good. The E46 is a prime example of this - still fantastic looking in Sport, but horribly dated in SE.

Heated seats as standard in a Z4M as well I think, so no dilemma ... As for the 'oldies' bottoms, most of us oldies have wives or partners who love coming out for a drive in the Z, but it would all be ruined for me by continual moaning about the cold if the seats weren't heated. If you don't have a partner yet, being a yoof, it would sure as hell spoil a first date ; if you have them you should know this by now :D

Nope, heated seats aren't standard in any model.

I'm an oldie, and need my heated seats! I'm 27.
